This Saturday I'm going to look at an 1988.5 TR with 16,000 miles. The 30K service was done 3/03 along with the clutch. It is a true two owner car. The dealer is having the leakdown and compression test done on Friday. Based on my searching the web site does 155-160 per cylinder for the compression test and 6%-10% for the leakdown sound right? I told them to make sure the motor was warm when they did the tests. Anything else I should be looking for in regards to these tests?

    Thanks
    Brent

    Brent,

There are no "official" figures in the workshop manual for compression figures, however the figures in your post are fairly realistic - the most important thing is that they are all in the same range (I would only be concerned if all the compressions were excessively low). Leakdown of 6% - 10% would be acceptable.
