WAS TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF BEING A SPONSOR HERE ENERGIZER SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR 50% OF THE MONTHLY FEE FOR 18 MONTHS BREAKING IT DOWN, IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT $200.00 FROM MY POCKET.PER MONTH. I KNOW ALL 15,000 MEMBERS OR SO USE BATTERIES FOR THEIR HOBBY, BUSINESS, AND HOUSEHOLD USE.. WAS THINKING OF MAKING ONLY A STRAIGHT 10% FOR FCHAT MEMBERS HERE ANY INPUT GUYS?? IS IT WORTH IT?? WILL IT WORK HERE?? THANKS, BRUCE
It sounds OK mate, hell give it a go for a few months if it dont work out then call it a day, nothing ventured nothing gained.
CANT IMAGINE WHY YOUR WIFE WOULD BE USING ALOT OF BATTERIES FOR?? STEVE, ARE YOU NOT DOING YOUR JOB AS A HUSBAND???
Bruce, It appears that the only question is, can you sell enough batteries to US FChat members to net $200/month. I'm sure that you have been over the numbers again and again trying to figure out whether the population here is high enough to support the $200 cost, so there probably isn't much point debating that here. So here's a question that might perhaps help answer the above question. Does the typical individual battery user stock up on batteries, or buy them as they need them? If they buy them as they need them, I'd imagine you wouldn't end up with enough sales to cover costs. If, however, they tend to stock up on batteries, the cost of shipping and time waiting for batteries to arrive aren't an issue for the user and you would be more likely to be able to cover your costs. Hopefully this is helpful. Troy
GOOD POINT TROY SINCE IM GETTING 50% HELP FROM MY BACKER, ITS ONLY ABOUT 200.00 A MONTH TO ROB FOR RUNNING COSTS PER MONTH SINCE I ONLY WANT TO MAKE 10% ON FCHAT MEMBERS, I NEED TO SELL ABOUT $2000.00 A MONTH GROSS SALES TO BREAK EVEN... MOST PEOPLE BUY ON IMPULSE, WHEN THEY NEED IT, BUT EXCEPTIONS ARE FOR THE XMAS HOLIDAYS... SIMPLY PUT, I NEED TO HAVE $2000.00 IN SALES A MONTH, TO MAKE IT WORTH WHILE...AND BREAK EVEN......THERES MY DILEMMA BRUCE
That seems like a lot of batteries for this group. Although, if the regulars on this site made one purchase per year from you, you would cover it fairly easily. On a side note, I love your new car. Exact color combination I want when I upgrade to a 550.
2K a month is a lot of batteries and that isn't making it worth the while. 2K will break even for the poketbook, but not for the time invested in getting the good shipped out. If there are other products that can be sold other than straight batteries - various flashlights, etc. then I'd say go for it.
GOOD POINT RANDY I HAVE ACCESS TO ANYTHING FROM WWW.ENERGIZER.COM AS WELL AS WALKIE TALKIE, COMPUTER, LAPTOP, DIGITAL CAMERA BATTERIES ETC... I HAVE IN THE PAST 3 YEARS FROM FCHAT, GOTTEN ORDERS FOR 3-700.00 FROM PEOPLE FOR THEIR HOME AND BUSINESS...ITS HIT OR MISS, BUT XMAS TIME ITS CRAZY AND THATS WHERE IT BOILS DOWN TOO I WANT TO RESPECT ROBS RULES ABOUT SOLICATIONS WITHOUT BEING A SPONSOR, SO HERE I ASKED THE QUESTIONS.. THANKS TROY, YOUR AZZURRO BLUE IS A BEAUTY TOO..
looks like you might need to get a shopping cart on your site. mmmmmm... ideas ideas. me personally, I don't have too much time on my hands, but drop me a line and I'll give you a ring to discuss options that wouldn't cost too much or nothing at all.
You Americans (sighs) that's all you think about (sex), her kneck massager is battery powered Image Unavailable, Please Login
YEA, AND WHO HAS THE MOST VISITS OUT OF 15,000 MEMBERS IN THE "BIKINI THREAD" RANDY, I DO WANT TO KEEP IT SIMPLE WITHOUT A CART.. JUST EMAILS TO ME WOULD WORK... I FEEL I CAN GET BACK TO ANYONE WITHIN AN HOUR ON A GIVEN WORK WEEK, BUT THANKS FOR THE OFFER
Brucey Brother..... Interesting Idea your putting forward here, and im surprised that this did not happen sooner. Ok lets break it down here... Energizer are giving you 18months at 50%. Which basically means, you would have to double any sales on here in 18 months, to still be on top. That way you would have to have continual growth of sales of about ~2.5% per month, on top of what you need to break even. Basically that $200 (becoming $400) needs to make you more than its worth in the long run. I understand that the Xmas period and what not are big for you, but looking at it simply, growth needs to be on the rise, continually, to make this a profitable venture. Wether or not that takes place, is up to the people on here, and your own ideals about where this will go, which brings me to the next point. What would the point of this venture be? You want to make some extra $$? You want to advertise the business to many members and beyond through this medium? Or you just want to provide a service to Fchat brothers? All 3 types of ideals require varying amounts of business strategies. Its up to you how you want to deal with this. I'd go into more detail, but considering its 8am, and i need to be at work in 30min, ill email you about it Mate all in all, i think its a good idea. Alot of users on here have used the services of WBC on here before, including myself many times... And i think it would be beneficial to you to have that in place, over the site. But i would seriously consider a online ordering system on your site. Trust me, you will be overworked at Xmas to deal with everyone off here with emails... Take it easy Brother
Bruce, I don't know where you got your numbers from, but those aren't the numbers I sent you! I think you are inflating the cost to the Big Bunny so they have a large 50% and maybe your 50% isn't much at all.
Hi Bruce- Let's map out the sku assortment and if you provide me with attributes (cost, retail, margin % - I know that you said you want to avg 10% markup on COGS), I can look at your historical sales across the different product types and put together an annualized plan whether or not the ROI is worth your ad costs, time and effort. You may not have to factor in a continuous growth rate once we layer seasonality into the forecast depending upon your gross margin dollars.
OK - CALL ME AT THE OFFICE TOMORROW AND WE CAN SPEAK SUPPLY CHAIN IN PLAIN ENGLISH. I JUST PM'D MY # TO YOU.
That could be determined using each sku's own historical actuals, a specific category or Energizer as a whole. Depending upon the product gross margin $ x seasonality index for holiday season could off set the slower month's shortages on an annualized basis to make it worth while without incremental lift or growth.
Do you have historical actuals that involve marketing and selling products through a VB site? With variables? With this situation brings the issue i have previously raised. Bruce will be in-undated with demand come holiday season, so it might be a tad J.I.T depending on Energizers supply eficiency. Which brings the point, all the extra stock, bad sales would be a problem, if that was the case. Bruce. Does Energizer have a policy to sell the specific batteries within a time period of manufacture?
