Source for 308 steering rack rebuild parts?

    Does anyone have a source for rebuild parts for a 308gtb steering rack. The passsenger side bushing on the rack is totally worn out. All of the Ferrari parts suppliers only seem to have rebuilt racks but no parts.

    I did a quick search through the archives, and it looks like the rack parts are the same as Pantera parts. Pantera Parts Connection in NV lists rack parts, so I'll give them a call tommorow.

    Brian, please report back what you find out.

    I know our sponsor Norwood's has the internal bushing, and most other Ferrari Parts houses should have the boots and tie rod ends.

    I purchased a rebuilt rack from the Pantera guy in Reno. The part was an exact fit and works great. Do not use the tie rod ends, however, because they are not the correct size.

    Doc,check out the Archives in the Chicago FChat Section from,about Last Winter,('03-'04) Bob308GTS,who is from this area,Completely Rebuilt the whole Front End of his 1979 308GTS that Winter.

    There may be some Pix and Info. But,if not,maybe you can send Bob a "P/M" on FChat. Bob is a super guy,and he really knows his stuff. He did it in his Garage,and it turned out great. Maybe he can "Steer" you in the right direction...:)
