I have no air coming thru any of the main vents on my car. The fan is and the temp are working but the only open vent is for the winshield.

Any ideas as to why the airflow is going only to the windshield no matter which setting I have the direction?

Dumb question from my side: you probably already know about the function logic, but do you have the STOP button in or out ?

With the STOP in (button low) the HVAC (heat/vent AC) system is deactivated (except for the fan).

With the STOP out (button high) the HVAC is fully activated.

    Otherwise you've got either:

    - faulty control panel
    - bad electrical connection
    - fault in diverter flap motor
    - stuck diverter flap

Can you hear any whirring or moving noises fron under the dash when you move the selector switch ?

Although the AC unit is not a simple as on/off I've made sure it's nothing too obvious.

There's no sound at all when I move the selector switch.

I've just tried it again and to be honest, even though I set the AC system to full, there was only a small amount of air coming through the windshield vents at the top.

So you've pushed the STOP button so that it's out (high), yes ?

Sounds as if the diverter flap motor is not working. You can repace it easily but it has to be timed to work properly. You could have a problem with the control unit which is very expensive. This is a problem that is best handled by a service facility with the equipment to diagnose the exact problem.

Check your fuses first - I believe there are 2 that control the ac main panel and 1 that controls the AC motor - or something like that - it has been a long time since I memorized the owners manual...

Someone may have the fuse diagram - or if you have your owners manual - you can check the back and it will tell you which ones control what. I think one of them is up front - storage area - and the others are in the passenger side foot well.

I would check those first - and if all is ok - I would take her in to have it checked out because it is probably and control panel problem...
