Had another "where can I find it" conversation today with a friend that is buying a 512bbi. Does anyone make after-market wheels to fit the Boxer, not only to be able to use regular non-metric tires, but to increase the wheel size to 16"-18"?

    Anyone out there know?

    Thanks.

The metrix TRX wheels on a BB512i are already about 16.5 inches in diameter. WWW.GaRedCars.com makes larger Boxer wheels .

Thanks for bringing it up. I was just about to ask that question for a client. Does anyone have an old set of the Ferrari looking HRE's for sale for a BB?

Just bought a set of used 16in wheels from another F-chat member for my boxer. Am planning on putting Michelin pilot sports on. 255/50 at the back abd 245/50 at the front. Then we will start playing with the shocks etc as necessary to see how well it can all work.

The biggest roadblock to boxer performance is the wheels/tires, some have gone with upgrdes but there is very little info on how it worked. Since I have 10 years experience with the stock setup, it will be interesting to see what modern rubber and grip will bring about, and what else will need to be changed, if anything, to make the new combo work. Any ideas on suspension settings etc?

Since posting this thread, I have found that there are wheel upgrade options for a Boxer. There is a shop in Germany that has 19" wheels identical to the new F430's, for aroung $4000. There is shop on Ebay that has the "star" wheels up to 18", widths to 10", around $2000+.

Not sure which way to go.

Thanks for all of your replies.

If you don't mind what is the name of the guy on ebay?

BTW it is hard to imagine a modern looking wheel on a BB. I would vote for the star or some simple design.

You might also check out www.ronalusa.com and look at their LZ. They can make it in any offset.

Note that I've worked out a deal with them that FCA (Ferrari Club of America) members now get a 20% discount off their normal internet prices.

mcharness; Great job. Ronal wheels are a known quality TUV rated wheel. I'd beware of ebay specials. I've called to see if ones can be fitted to Boxers.
