That's an easy one............Salleen. He calls himself a manufacturer, and not a tuner. Either way, his cars are way overpriced, and there always seems to be a problem with them when they get tested by a magazine.
The picture of the BMW 5's........Bingo. Worst sports car, modern Lotus. Its an acronym for Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious.
The new Jaguar XJ is all Jaguar. The new XJ's aluminum chassis is 40 % lighter and 60 % stiffer than if it were steel. The 2005 Jaguar Super V8, the long wheel base, flagship XJ, weighs over 800 pounds less than a BMW 760Li. The new XJ uses a 6 speed ZF automatic transmission. Jaguar's V-8 is not a Ford V-8. Jaguar's 4.2 V-8 does not have the potential timing chain tensioner or nikasil problems of 97-00 XK8s and 98-00 XJ8s. http://www.jagweb.com/aj6eng/v8_performance.html The new XJ's outer headlights are larger than the inner headlights like the original XJ. The wheels are pushed closer to the corners of the car like the original XJ. The next Jaguar S-Type will likely use the new XJ's aluminum chassis. The next Jaguar S-Type will likely look a lot like the 2003 Jaguar RD-6 which was shown at the 2003 Frankfurt auto show in September. It might also look like the 2001 Jaguar R Coupe. The RD-6's hood looks similar to the Bentley Continental GT which was shown at the 2003 Paris auto show. The next Jaguar XK8 will use the new XJ's aluminum chassis. The Jaguar Advanced Lightweight Coupe was shown at this year's Detroit auto show. It shows what the next XK8 might look like. The next XK8 will have to comply with new European pedestrian safety regulations. That Jaguar coupe looks similar to new Aston Martins, but, one thing I notice from pics is that the tail tapers off like the current XK8. New Astons have a "flat" trunk with a crease around them.
