I am refinishing 7 1/2 x 14 Campagnolo Ferrari wheels and was wondering if there is a right way to remove the center caps. So far they are not cracked but need polishing. I would like to subject them to as little stress possible.
Remove the wheel and using a large socket and hammer (from the inside) tap them out. You may want to place a rag between the socket and cap to cushion the blow. Prying them out from the outside using a flat head screwdriver is the sure way to mark them up.
