Count me IN!!! Anything for Greg G!!! Just let me know the dates.... going to be out of the country from 7/14 - 7/28 (maybe longer??!!).
Gus and I were talking at dinner the other night and thought of how to make this a bit more fun then a regular drive. I suggested doing a Poker run. We could start out a fixed location, and each leave a few min apart. At 4 or 6 designated locations, the driver would pick a card from a deck of cards and mark it on a score card. At the last location, final meeting place the last card is picked. The person with the best poker hand wins a prize. This lets you drive your car, enjoy the drive, do not have to speed and keeps it safe. It also adds some fun to the event. I used to do these with the Harley club for years.
Bruce, Hopefully I am still invited to these events even though I have moved back over to the Porsche world.... Scott
I sold the Maserati and ordered a new Boxster S. Test drove the GT3, 2005 Carrera S and 2005 Boxster S. Actually liked the Boxster S the best so I bought one. I should have it in about 3 weeks.... I'm sure that by August, I'll be driving Italian again.
In that case I would imagine that you don't mind taking a nice hit on depreciation. All the P-cars you mentioned are worthy in their own right. I would have personally gone with the 997 S but that's just me. I look forward to seeing your new whip and getting your thoughts on the selection process. E
AUGUSTINE WAS CHECKIN' THE WEATHER TO SEE IF WE WERE GONNA GO DRIVING THIS MORNING. BUT, NOPE IT'S RAINING. OH BW, AM I ALLOWED IN FOR THIS GIG? SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT TIME, AND AN EXCUSE TO COME FIND YOU WITH THE DINO. MY VACATION SCHEDULE IS CLEAR FOR AUGUST. CAN I BRING A FRIEND??? CAN WE FLY NNO IN? DAVE HERE'S A SNAP OF THE FRIEND. I had the Maser longer than any other car I've had in years.... I had it for 9 months (LMAO). The Boxster is an interesting choice but after reading alot of reviews that raved about the car I went and test drove one for an extended period of time and came back to the dealership and basically said holy s**t. The car handles and brakes better than almost anything I've ever been in. It's not super fast (0-60 in 5 seconds) but this things is nuts in the twisties!!
And I thought I was bad Scott, with an average hold period of about a year. - If there is any cure for the "too many cars, too little time" syndrome, please let me know?
I actually did the calculations and I average a new one every 7 months. Just stupid! P.S. We'll be on topic again soon!
<tapping the desk> ugh..... Know any place I can stay close by? Pick a day already! Image Unavailable, Please Login
