Hi Pete, Isn't the written word great ?! I didn't read the sarcasm into the post but it didn't sound like your spin...but I couldn't let you get away with it just in case The GT4 chassis has gone to the wreckers but all the rest is in my garage (bar the few parts the Canadian boys have bought off me). I went to Melb for the GP and to look at some 328s I was interested in but one was rusty and the other was sold The GP was interesting but the result was wrong although RB (I like him immensely) really showed he is more of a fighter than Michael on occasions although Michael is still the best (had to put that in as the wife is a REAL MS fan)
It reminds me somewhat of 1994: The (at that time) world's best driver Senna in the world's best car Williams was a sure bet to get the title. Youngster Schumacher challenged him in the underdog Benetton and every time I saw Senna not score I was jumping up and down with excitement. Of course that joy ride came to a tragic end at Imola. That last part I don't need to see again, but the races before might be what this season is about. The Youngster is now the master and a new youngster is challenging him in the Benetton, err Renault.
But even MS said that if Senna had lived he doubted he could have won the WC. I would have loved to have seen them slug it out. Some how I get the same feeling here with MS being behind. He's just so good. Let's hope there's a good fight.
Oh absolutely. MS is so good and the new Ferrari (as well as the old one) is so good, he will come back, no doubt. That's why I'd like to see him fall behind a bit. It'll make for a much more interesting second half of the season. However I have the feeling he'll be back much earlier than this, possibly already on Sunday.
