I think with cdma a dual band is that is can pick up one frequency of digital and will pick up analog. Tri band is two different digital and analog. The more bands the better if you travel so that you will be more likely to find a digital band. With verizon I think they charge you roaming if you are off of their digital network.

I could be wron b/c i have not used them in a really long time.

Go to www.howardfourms.com. You may find out somethings about particular phones under the verizon forum.

Thank your lucky stars! I liked my V600 "ok", but I didn't like that I had to have it replaced 3 times under warranty. When the fourth and final one crapped out on me I sent it in and immediately ebayed the replacement and bought a V3. Way too many software glitches in V600 for my taste.

I left Verizon as I was sick of getting lied to and the like (If you REALLY want me to type my rant I will).

I'm with T-Mobile, FAR cheaper, FAR better phones..etc...

What do you all do at the end of your service contract? T-Mobile for instance - I lost my phone so I am now using my friends which is a half-broken (2 of the buttons don't work, including menu button) V60 - and my contract ends in August. I want to sign a new contract to get a new deal with better minutes and what have you, and also a new phone. Will they give you the same number or force you to get a new one? How do you all handle this?

I must say, I've been happy with Verizon.

They have, in the past, offered to replace one of my daughter's phones, out of warranty for free. This is after she dropped it in the toilet. A wet phone, and I told the rep that. Didn't seem to matter that it was my daughter's fault.

There is a real person with a real phone number that has the hospital acct thru which I get my phones.
She is always nice and helpful.I could not be more pleased with the service from them.

I'm in NC if that makes a difference, and the hospital has a national acct, i guess thru a buying group.

Since she is an account rep for a big ol' contract, she probably makes a whole lot more and cares a whole lot more than the customer service reps that the great unwashed have access to.

No problem, With the new number portability law you can keep your number even with switching carriers . Do not buy from a store. The last two years I have used letstalk.com, You only have to sign a one year contract with any of the carriers and phones are much cheaper and in many cases you even make money with rebates. They are great to deal with and I just got three new phones from them and my wife did not like hers, with no questions asked they just sent me out another.
