whoever owned the car before you could of been an idiot and overreved before shifting. I sold a car to someone and he shredded the clutch in 2k miles.
Again - are you kidding...? I tell you what - give me your car for a day - I bet I could drop your clutch in less than 10 miles. Miles have absolutely nothing to do with wear on clutches, hoses, belts, etc. Please read my post again... And please enlighten us by filling out your profile and letting us know what types of F-cars you own and have expertise with...
30K engine out service was done at change over and as mentioned above i have changed 4 tyres, front rotors and caliper
Hong Kong is a very hilly place with lots of traffic. Riding the clutch is a national pasttime for most FCar owners here. Clutches die VERY fast here, it's just a fact of life, especially if the previous owner could'nt drive for ****. Regarding the power problems, Patrick, have you changed your cats yet? Did you mention that you had grey/whie powder coming out the tips? I can't remember...
no! i have not had them checked or replaced, do you think i should? i dont think its me that have powder coming from the exhaust
rotfl ! seriously ... if you really think that its a slipping clutch , testing it is easy , just find your nearest parking lot incline (the sort that look like is almost 45 degrees .... ) , hold the car there with only your clutch and then let it out gently and try to accellerate. If it going to slip , you'll hear the engine spin up but there's no drive. If it bites, then you've going to have to look elsewhere. BTW , you mentioned alot about the lack of the 'explosive' acceleration. Did you come from a turbo car before ? If you did , then you're probably going to have to live with this , unless there's something else fundamentally wrong with the car. cheers and no offense.
