My blown 97 blue and white Viper GTS with over 800 rwhp is my other favorite aside from the yellow 360 spider. I guess I'll never out grow muscle cars. My previous car, a 996 turbo was great also and I will be looking for one to use as the perfect daily driver. BTW, you guys here are too sensitive.

I had a Pontiac Fiero which was a good city car as it was small and plastic, but not any real fun to drive. My Accord is a great car as it works 100% of the time, keeps me warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer. And can haul lots of junk although a bore to drive. I also love my Odyssey van as it drives a lot like a sports car (no kidding!) and is very compfy on long trips.

My Europa is the toy; I love it a lot. I am interested in the Lotus marque for what they do well, but I would also love a Ferrari or two to play with as well. I'm more loyal to individual cars than marques.

I think Jap is probably considered less offensive than other terms like nip or wop, etc. Jap means JAPanese. Its sort of like someone in Australia saying "I have this yank Corvette", not offensive to me.

Then again, one cannot know always how OTHERS will take the term, so thanks for the heads up and I will be careful with this term from now on. But y'all can feel free to call me a honky ass cracker yank from the liberal capital of the world and I wont mind :)

Obviously my F car tops the list but I have always had an attraction to Nissan z cars. My first sports car was a 240z back in the 70's. My daily driver, a 350z maintains the tradition as still the best combination of performance, looks and price. The best car I ever owned was an Infinity - 85,000 miles and absolutly nothing done to it other than oil changes and tires (try to do that with ANY German car) - sold it to make room for the 350. I also love my Pathfinder - the ultimate beater - 120,000 miles, a little rough around the edges but kicks azz as a hauler. Also, I almost forgot my Lancia Zagato. I've owned this car since 1984. It was part of the last shipment delivered in North Anerica in 82. It now has 64,000 original miles. That brings me to my ultimate favorite car - my wife's new Taraus - it's her company car and while it may be a POS - its FREE - you just can't beat that.

Gees, I'm pretty educated but never thought 2x about using the "Jap" term. Thanks for the tip. BTW: I do have lots of Native American art work in my living room: from framed prints to pottery, carvings, mandellas, & medicine wheels. My bedroom is a 5-piece Oriental wood set w/ silk koi tapestries & gold leaf goldfish prints on the walls – & one Salvador Dali signed piece.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

This coming from someone with the full name "Hugh G. Rection" LOL! ;)

By the way Karen, I don't think you can use the term Oriental anymore. Asian is the preferred nomenclature. ;)

I was brought up Presbyterian & barely know or care what it means. That predestination crap & contemplating the true path to Heaven was a small footnote in a college philosophy class 20 years ago. Steven Hawking is way cool.

1973 BMW 2002 - First BMW I ever saw, rode in owned by family friend which I bought for $1 and brought back to life with a group of good friends. http://www.camptownauto.com/cars/Bent02/

1991 BMW M3 - Last year of the real M3. Car had 12k mi and was cleaned to within an inch of its life.

I won't bore you with pics if you're not interested so I put links to each car.

I missed these cars but the delivery of the Stradale made them a distant memory.

I recently purchased my first Ferrari, a 2002 360. I have wanted an f-car since I saw my first 246GTS years ago but kept buying other cars instead. My favorites are my blown 96 viper gts, my 39 ford with a 572 cu in motor, and my recent completion of my 32 ford with a viper motor. Back in the old days I had a mini cooper S and a 1966 Jag e-type, both of which I wish I still had.

Had I gotten the ferrari sooner I probably would not have gone through so many cars. It may not be the fastest but it is pure heaven to drive.

My Ferrari is the only European car I've owned. I've had American cars in the past, but most of my cars have been Japanese.

I didn't find the term "jap" offensive in venusone's post, but I agree the term can be offensive in some written contexts and most spoken ones. The way venusone used it, I see it as an abbreviation of "japanese", and a good short one at that. venusone simply omitted the trailing period, which is extremely common in rushed writing.

    I'm also of Japanese ancestry.

The only car I've had which has had a similar level of appeal as my Ferrari has been the Porsche 928. It's a very different sort of car (and appeal) so I kind of feel pulled in 2 directions.

I would love to review cars in my past that have led me to this point in my life. My first car was a muscle car, of American heritage. My pride and joy at 16, was my 1967 Chevelle SS 396. One year later I “jumped over the pond”, and added a Sunbeam Alpine (with real wire knock off ‘s) for my driving pleasure. (Oh by the way I remember paying only $800.00 for the Chevy, and $200.00 for the Sunbeam – where are those days now)

At 19, I lost all common sense and sold both to buy that other American car with “Corinthian Leather” – all you old timers will remember that one.

In my mid twenties, I bought an X 1/9 and then my first Jaguar (’74 XJ12L). At 28 bought my first of two Lancia’s (Beta HPE), then a grey market Beta Monte Carlo (in USA- a Scorpion). For a few years I had the pleasure of driving the HPE daily, and the Monte Carlo was the weekender.

All of my thirties… in that decade I, (got married) bought 3 Maserati’s, my second Jaguar, (an XJS), two Pontiacs, and my first Saturn. Donated my last Maserati to charity at 41. (still kept the Saturn)

At 42, (circa 1999) Bought two toys the XJ8, and the C5, and this kept me happy for a few years. Until recently (2003), ….. I upgraded my Saturn to the VUE that I drive now, and added the 308 GT4 (in 2004).

So at this point in my life, I think this will do…. For now.

    Enjoy the drive

My first really stirring car was a 1967 Buick Gran Sport with over 400hp. Had a lot of fun in and with that car. The first car I really modded was a Saab SPG
that had chip, full brake upgrade, susp upgrade, intake etc. Great car and one of the most useful sports cars I ever had. Blown BMW 540 six speed with major mods, blown Viper with over 700rwhp, 550, 355 and very very soon, a euro 360. Those are the highlights of a much longer list of cars. I have always had at least one truck over the years with the most memorable being a 67 Ford f250 4x4 and a Dodge Power Wagon from the late 60's also. Country living dictates at least one truck at all times.
