Nice - there's been a lot of questions over the years as to what modifications this F50 actually has. Nobody seems to know...
I did a search on the car and the only mod I found was the car has an extra 50hp over the reg. F50 through the use of an air intake. Ill post more later. Im sure it must have more than that in the engine. -PJ
Zach, You're right that nobody seems to know what modifications this F50 has. About the engine , I keep hearing it has 800 hp and then some say it has 700 hp. Who knows? Great pics!
Salegoose, Were you allowed to shoot the engine? I'm curious to see if there is are any turbo manifolds poking about?
When you do, thank him for driving the car, and not parking it. It is a beautiful color, and as seen on this pic, has been driven~ http://www.supercarfrance.com/MC23/Part-1/04.jpg
Great car! I guess the pics are taken in front of the Loews hotel in the famous corner with the same name as the hotel, in Monaco?
i have a pic of the car also, the pic was also taken in Monaco, 2002. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wonder if it has the Tipo 130a engine, as opposed to Tipo 130. What's the difference? Tipo 130a was usedin the F50GT and produces 750bhp ad 10,500rpm. No difference in displacement, and no real torque differences either. F50 is a very interesting car.
Wait, did I just see and hear this car at the 360 Challenge race at Sears Point 2004? Whatever engine the car had, it went from 0 to F1-like redline in about the time it takes to say "HO" As in "HOLEY ****!"
as much knowledge as there is on this board and no one knows anything for sure about this F50? how many of the Tipo 130a engines were made? i assume a few since they were planning to put the F50GT into a series. if that's the case, would ferrari just sell the engines to f50 owners? i'm sure maintenance on something like that is pretty extensive.
If you remove the strange air intake, it's just a "normal" F50 with some engine modifications. No real big deal, I guess. And probably no link to the F50 GT. But who knows By the way, thanks "ferrari_boy" for posting my picture, when I saw it during the F1 GP two years ago ...... See: http://community.webshots.com/album/65750874VZgExj
that's great. what kind of info do you have on the car. there seems to be little knowledge of it here as far as engine tuning or any other under the hood type tuning is concerned. we started a thread that would include more detail about the car here. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17135
Mistaken answer! From some years the Loews has changed name, hour calls Monte Carlo Grand Hotel. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So some of you guys are saying that they installed a F50 gt in this normal F50?? That car wouldn't be street legal then right?
