Are we meant to drive these cars? I thought you just park them and admire.... The weather has been crap here and I heard they melt in the rain. Is that true? ACC/IGN, you know what I was getting at.. Thanks! that answers the question I asked!
Heck no. I drove mine rain or shine for three years. (Until it developed an irregular heartbeat that none of the mechanics can fix -- the joys of electronic ignition: nobody looks for problems they don't know how to fix. I guess I need to find a reasonably priced o'scope.) The S03s are much better in the wet than the (old) VRs. You have to be careful not to overcook the throttle in turns (unless you're using power oversteer to tighten your turning radius ), but it's fairly well behaved in the wet. Perhaps not. Older American cars had a separate "accessories" position, marked "ACC", counterclockwise from off, which powered a few accessories like the radio and some lights (but not the ignition), in addition to "ON" and "START". (They might still -- I haven't owned an American car since before Nixon resigned.) Italian cars have positions marked "MAR" (for "Marcia": Running) and "AVV" (for "Avviamento": Starting) -- at least on the US edition Alfas and Ferraris I've driven; I can't speak for non-US editions. Some Yanks sometimes confuse "AVV" and "ACC". I may take the scenic route, but I get there. ('strue: old geezers ramble on: when the data banks get full, they leak. )
The humming is the fuel pump working fine. Thats why you smell gas. I definitely would not tap a potentially leaky fuel pump with a metal object.Check for leaking fuel first.You could be sucking in air or leaking fuel. I think that you have a fuel leak,bad starter or dead battery. Usually its the most simple thing that went bad.Charge battery first then try. If it does not work tap the starter.
Well guys, I popped in a new 34R battery yesterday and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again to everyone that helped me.
