I've said it before, I'll say it again: My only hope is that F1 continues to improve to a point where, whenever there's an incident that results from an overtaking manouver, the collective F1 world doesn't need to turn into "CSI:F1" and analyze the living crapola out of it. There should be sufficient passing in the sport where the odd incident is to be expected.

I agree with you on all counts there mate. I think that a major limiting factor is the tires. From when i was down in Melbourne for the GP, i sit at a corner (Turn 9) which usually has quite a number of cars having "offs" right in front of me, going on past year experiences. This year out of the WHOLE weekend i only saw the Indian Jordan Driver have an off there, and he nearly made it out of the gravel-trap anyways (Check the thread "Curry in a Hurry" for pics)

You could even hear over the pit radio after the flying qualifying lap "Keep the speed down, save the tyres". The drivers are not going hard enough in order to save tyres. Now all the chopping and changing in overtaking is toned down as drivers keep that situation in mind. The onlv overtaking is drafting and outbraking....:(

I dont know if some of the reason for this is the "One engine, Two Race" rule, but it could very well be.

F1 needs to lose the restrictions in order for it to stay enjoyable.
