Brandon, I drive the precise wonderful roads you detail most Saturday and Sunday early AM. Starbucks in Beverly and off to Hamilton on 1A, 133 through Essex, Ipswich etc or 1A to Newburyport. Great roads and scenery. Before the traffic builds the loop around Gloucester and Rockport is also fun. Marvelous roads for relaxed motoring, definitely not a high-speed area! Top down in the 348, Tubi provides a wonderful sound, life is good!

    Hey Scott, Spider.....

Yeah, the North Shore is great! We should all try to meet up for a Sunday drive.

Spider - I think I remember passing you one day last summer/fall in Magnolia? Is your 348 a red one? I was either in my red 328-S or my buddy's dark green 328-B.... Can't remember what car we were in... not many 348's around....Was that you?

The Willows on a Sunday morning is pretty deserted so that might make a great spot to meet. Do you guys know where everyone else is from? I wonder if the Salem/Beverly area is too far for some of the guys...

You guys going to Tutto Italiano in May? I'd like to get the local guys together for a little champagne and last-minute detailing before leaving for Brookline.... Interested?

I'd be up for a for a leisurely Sunday morning drive. Not sure about Tutto Italiano yet but sounds like a good plan

Sounds like a great plan! Birdman is over in North Reading, I am sure he would love to meet in either his 308 or Mondial. Look forward to meeting all of you.
Might have been me in the 348. Red spider, top always down, baseball cap and perpetual smile! I do not recall passing a 328, red or green. Difficult to miss either of those beautiful Ferraris!
I usually leave for the Tutto Italiano early. Much nicer drive prior to the traffic congestion at the mall etc. Love to meet. I have never displayed, are you planning to display your 328? Please let me know. John.

Let's PM each other and try to get a date for either late April or May... I'll be Italy at the F-factory on the 15th of April - will have a lot to report on when I return.

John, maybe it wasn't you in Magnolia - but someone else has a beautiful red 348 in the neighborhood! LOL Where are you from? Beverly?

Yes, I do plan to enter Tutto this year - it is my first concours and looking forward to the experience. How many of you guys have entered before?

OK guys, let's make a plan to do some local driving as well as seeing who else may be up for more New England regional stuff.... A day trip like Birdman suggested would be great! I'm guessing that Birdman is getting some PM's about it all so I will wait to hear from him on this thread...

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

Please post where the drive is going to be. I would love to tag along in a 7-10 F-car drive. Do any of you local guys have a tubi on your car? I would really like to hear on in person. I am thinking about a tubi for my Testarossa.

    Hey Guys,
This sounds great! We have two things going on in this thread now:

    1. An Fcar drive
    2. Tutto Italiano.

I love the Tutto, but this year I stupidly made plans to be in the Bahamas during it, and I'll have to miss it! (I actually considered rescheduling!)

Let's start a new thread for the Tutto Italiano and keep this thread as an Fcar drive. (I mean Icar drive).

I like this Essex thing. It's close enough that lots of people will probably show up. (Doody? Verell?) Where shall we meet? We need a meeting place, then a lunch place, and a nice drive in between.

Speed is not the issue....just a nice drive without much traffic. Sounds like you Cape Ann dudes have some great ideas!

We also need a date. Any ideas?

N H Rossa I have a Tubi on my 348 spider. If there are any other 348's the difference will be readily apparent. The sound difference between stock and the Tubi is amazing on the 348 Ferrari!

I'd be interested in tagging along on a ride. I just bought a 328 and should have it in a few days. So, I'll definitely be ready to go in April or May.

I live in Beverly and agree that all the roads mentioned are great drives. I would also suggest rt. 97 heading towards Topsfield and Georgetown. I don't know too many plaes to grab somethng to eat out past there though.

For either drive, rt. 1A in Beverly sounds like a good meeting place. Just off 128 around Bertuccis/Starbucks.

    Yo Jay!

Welcome! Congrats on the new Fcar. Looking forward to meeting you at the events. We typically have a few cookouts and other Fchat gatherings in the summer.

Sounds like we have a meeting place. Now we just need a lunch place and a route.

Not to hijack Birdman's thread or anything, but I am now looking at a calendar and thinking......how about the following:

Sunday, 24 April at say 10:00 AM ? (use the following Sunday, 01 May as a raindate)

Can everyone check their schedules and see if this works?

OK - I agree with Birdman that we have a gathering place and perhaps now a date (?)

All we need now is a finalized route......Routes 97, 1A, 133, and 127 are all good. Essex is on Rt. 133 and probably hosts the most varied of restaurants to suit everyone's tastes...

    What does everyone think?

I know I am the new guy, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but April 24 is no good for me. That is my daughters baptism. I'm pretty sure the locks on the house would be changed if I went for a ride and was late for the service.
Obviously though, if the 24th works for the rest of you I'll just plan on tagging along the next time.

    Jay,

I well understand... I don't want to step on any toes either. I chose the 24th as I will be in Italy the two weekends prior to this.

Hey listen guys... as I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, this doesn't have to be a one-time-only event. There seems to be a fair number of North Shore F-car owners so I'm sure we can get a regular schedule for this type of thing going throughout the Ferrari season. Although I have a couple of favourite routes, it would be nice to discover some new scenery, as well as enjoy the good company of all of you!

Birdman, I will hand off to you as this is your idea, but I am able to assist you with any of the organizational stuff you might want done. I can do maps, organize a phone tag, etc.... just let me know!

Can't commit to 4/24 at this point as I may be in the Atlanta area for the Tour de Georgia.

I'm cool with April, but the reason I was thinking May is because there is less chance of the weather screwing things up. Once you go to all the trouble to organize something like this, it really sucks when it rains (or snows!) on the parade!

Let me look at the calendar and throw out a few dates shortly...

    Looking forward to this!

    Birdman,
I'd love to drive up there for a drive. I'm not scared. Plus, I've never been up to that neck of the woods before. The only thing is I can only make it if it's a Saturday. Unless my schedule changes.

Hey guys..... I had a great run today with my buddy up through Beverly along Rt. 22 into Essex (stopped for lunch at Periwinkles) then along Rt. 133 to Hamilton then 1A into Ipswich for a cig. break at the beach. Back to Rt. 133 and through Essex again to stop at a couple of shops... Somehow or another got to Rt. 127 into Gloucester, Manchester by the Sea then through Beverly Farms and back home again...

It was a really nice drive and took us about 5.5 hours to do it all... The weather was cool, but really sunny out and the roads were reasonable as far as potholes, etc.... (there were more than a few cops poking about in Essex)

Yeah, we really should do a similar run soon. The roads will be even better on a Sunday when less people are out and about.

The car handled great and the sound of the engine was a real thrill. A few Ferrari admirers stopped us in Essex to have a chat and I am sad to report that we never saw another F-car while out the whole day :(

I was out travelling 95S in MA today and was apparently mistaken for you on another thread. I agree it was a beautiful day and the roads were very passable. Glad to hear you had a great drive!

I was going to post about the 328 I saw in Essex, we passed you on our way to woodman's with various family members in our Lexus - I was also out all three of Fri, Sat and Sun in the CS. Nice driving, pity about the pot-hole obstacle course out there!

    Dan,

I saw your car outside of Best Buy at the liberty Tree Mall on Saturday. I was pretty sure it was yours since the license plate was "Dan 360". That car looks awesome - even a little dirty. :)

    Hey Dan,

Glad another Ferrari enthusiast was out this past weekend! It sure was great weather for it!

A friend says he sees a red 360 in Marblehead often. Is that where you live? If so, we are neighbors! :)

I hope we can get a date(s) soon for May as it doesn't seem like April is working for most of us. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and the other guys and enjoying a nice rally around the North Shore...

Man, this rain sucks - but at least getting rid of the remaining snow and salt on the roads....

    Hey Jay...

When can we get pics of the new car? We're all psyched for you!

    Hey Brandon,

I got the car yesterday. A little mistake with the shipping company (they lost my contact info) delayed arrival from Saturday (a beautiful sunny day) to Monday (horrible rainy day). So, I haven't even had a chance to take her for a ride. Tomorrow looks good, so I will have her out then and snap a few pics.

OK, so if we have ruled out April....

    I'm suggesting May 1, 7 or 8.

I'm going to start a poll. Watch for another thread!
