Does anyone know of a nice 1998 or 1999 355 Berlinetta in Rosso Corsa (Red) with a 6-speed tranny for sale??? I'd also consider a 355 GTS.

soon as the f430 hits the roads the f355's will be in the 50k range.

    I wouldn't go that far.

In fact, since 430s will be costing around 300K, the value of 360s and 355s might even go up!

I don't think 355s will ever hit 50K retail--at least not in the next 5 years.

I don't really think the 430 will impact 355 prices that much. Pretty different markets for the cars, the f430 is probably a good 150k more expensive than a 355.

I don't forsee any changes in demand for the 355, perhaps 355 owners will be trading up to the 430 and more will enter the market but i doubt it will be very significant.

Disagree 100% You are not going to have 355's lose $20,000 in depreciation because a new model came out.

    I never said 20k.

50k range is feasable. especially when Im seeing 355gtb's for sale for $67,000

it seems that people whom really want a 355, but cannot afford at this moment, are trying to will the value down. for sure the 355 will continue to depreciate, but not as fast as some on this board would like.

If I can just find the "right" 355 Berlinetta (98 or 99 with 6 speed) Red in color, maintenance records in place - I will pay the price. I will not say money is no object, but I'm definitely willing to pay a premium for the right car.

:D - Kelly so true. Sure the F430's are coming, but how easily people forget that (i) they are going to roll in VERY gradually, with waitings lists continuing to span multiple years, and (ii) the price point on the car has increased substantially which eases the downward pressure on the older models. Sticker for an entry-level Ferrari (360) in 2001 was $135K. Today, the cost of admission is $180K. The higher they price today, the less price pressure there is on the older cars.

An "average"-condition '95 355B trades for $70K today. Expect it to trade for $60K - $62K in three - four years. The depreciation curve for these cars have flattened my friends - it's about time you realized that. - ;)

For those of you looking for the "right" late-year 355, check out riverflyer's car - he's got a lovely silver 1999 355B F-1 that he is selling. It's listed on FerrariAds.com.

actually sticker on 360 was never 135k. it was 147k for base, and thats NOT including destination charge(which u must pay). and today a used '01 360 coupe is no more than 150k, it should not be.

brain, imo, unless its a car u will keep for life, personally it would not matter that much. of course u dont want to end up with a problem car that goes into shop weekly.
u pay less for a non-perfect car, u get less when u sell. u pay more now, u might/might not get more when u sell. the cost to own is same.

Relevant comparison is not an '01 coupe yesterday versus an '01 coupe today. Point is what the cost of admission is to get into an entry-level Ferrari. In 2001, that was a 360 coupe. Today, that's the F430 coupe. Ball-park MSRP for the F430 is around $180K, is it not?

I thought I recently saw a window sticker for a 2000 that said $136K - I assumed it was about the same for an 2001, but I'll recheck. Even with the higher price, the original point is still valid.

    dont disagree with original point.
i for one do not think the launch of 430 has immediate impact on f355. the 430 will be traded at 250-300k once its being flipped the 1st time. and 360, 355 price will hold.

although, i think its dreamful to think in 3-4 yrs a '95 f355 can still swing 60-62k. i wish so cuz i have one i will keep if so, but i dont believe it will. my guess is that it will hold the 50k line.

I know I would have bought that car had it been a 6-speed when he first listed it.

Well, I checked out the one at Hatch & Sons. Liked it, and bought it. Thanks, Roscoe! They are doing a respray on the front bumper, and I should have the car in a couple weeks. Definitely worth the fight to Boston!

WOW...Pretty strong statement! Not sure your dream will come true unless your considering a damaged or salvage car.
