Took her out on Friday and she was fine. Got in it just now, and it's turning over but won't fire. Classine Line Rescue on the way. Any bets as to what it could be?

No spark. Removed and cleaned Crank Sensor plugs and now have spark, but suspect engine now flooded. Advised to try it again tomorrow.

    Fingers crossed...

Must have been the weekend for it! I had the RAC out this morning having jumped a flat battery yesterday to find it flat again. Dead cell, all sorted now. Neighbours enjoyed it.

Called my specialist, and he advised that if it was flooded yesterday then it still would be today. He had me disconnect a "cold start fuel injector", hold the throttle down about 25% and turn the key. After about 5 seconds it started! The part that I disconnected is circled in the photo below. I have since hooked it up again.

    A big relief. :D:D:D

It's the most wonderful sound in the world when you get it to start after something like this.

Glad it was relatively simple and didn't cost anything to fix

I thought cold starts was only fitted to northern cars bet it kicked some crap out of the exhaust when it fired up

Yes indeed, absolutley on both points.

Oh yes. The fog had lifted, but it was back again for a few minutes at my house. Been out for a good run and cleared it out. :D

Thanks Dave. Given my "skills" under the bonnet that is the last thing I need. I can cope with disconnecting a pipe, but thats about it.

Thats the cold start injector only trigers below certian temp for cold starts,it may be leaking causing flooding as its under constant pressure.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Thanks Dale. My specialist said I could leave it off and just tie it up somewhere as it is intended for 'Arctic' conditions. The problem when your engine is already flooded is that it just dumps more fuel in. The car started within 5 secs of disconnecting it. I think I will leave it off if the problem happens again.

I had the same problem, if the car did not start first time it would choke up. Have left the cold start disconnected for several years now and it has started OK even when I have had to scrape ice off the windows.
