I've never trailered my 355 but I am going to shortly. I have a good assortment of rigging but can't find any places I like hook to. Any suggestions on tie down points? Thanks.

Cant you use webbing belts through the alloys? Like some do. And put in ya towing eye at the front , for a front tie hold.

I would call Dave Helms at Scuderia Rampante in Boulder. I'm sure you know him but my experience is that he's seen it and done it all in the Ferrari world. If Dave is busy, just ask his wife Kris to get a quick answer and call you back. Lucky you - Scuderia Rampante is right out your back door!

I don't know if I trust the tow eye. It looks a little cheesy. I've heard of problems even using it to winch onto trailers. As for the wheels, I'd be interested in experience there as well. My concern with the web straps through them is that I'll hose up the finish. I do like to tie cars so they "float" on the suspension though.

When my 328 was picked up by a ferrari specialist they used straps on the wheel.use soft fluffy towels along with the straps around the wheels if ya like. Remember the straps are used on the car just in case the car moves which lets face it is very unlikley. As for the front towing eye, its used along with the wheel webbing. I mean your not going to put the car on the back of the truck at an angle with the hand break of are you. You never asked if the eye was strong enugh to winch the car on to the trailer, you asked about tie down.
Now i am realy interested to know what other solutions you are going to be offerd without the use of straping to the wheels, becourse you say you like the car to float on the suspention, well theres only four wheel touching the ground. This is going to be interesing.

I just talked to a guy in the area that has years of experience moving FCars. The net is he said never tie down to a sub-frame or the tow hook. Too many G's when the car bounces. As recommended early in this thread, he said to go through the spokes and pad the straps where they hit the rims or buy the tire tie down nets that go over the top of the tire. As an alternative, he said to go around suspension A arms but you usually end up with clearance problems with the closed underbodys on the newer cars. I'll be ordering the tire net/tie down setups. They are about $200 and it looks safe, clean and secure.
