A friend is visiting from the UK this week and I thought one day we could take the 328 up the autobahn to the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart. Does anyone know if it's open and if so where to go. Is it even worth a visit? I'm assuming it's at the main Mercedes building with the turning star on the roof. Appreciate any help. Cheers Simon
Simon, please forget about this taxi museum!!!!!!!!!! If you realy want to do your friend (and yourself) a favour, drive to the "Schlumpf Museum" http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/schlumpf/ or to the "Rosso & Bianco Museum" http://www.rosso-bianco.de/ thats my personal favorite!!!!!!!!!
Been to the Schlumpf. I'm not interested in taxis, its the W154's, W196's and SSK's I want to see. I have heard it's one of THE museums, but would like to hear what others think.
And whats the about the Rosso Bianco????????????? largest Alfa Romeo-Collection in the world apart the factory -museum largest Lancia-Collection in Europe largest Abarth-Collection in Germany largest Lotus-Collection in Europe largest Lola-Collection in the world largest McLaren-Collection in the world largest CanAm-/Interseries-Collection in the world huge Porsche-Collection important Zagato-Collection lots of Ferraris, Maseratis and Lamborghinis continous motorcycle-exhibition (about. 50 Exp.) What else do you wanna see? .....but I`m not others
Here you go to get an impression..... http://www.mercedes-benz.com/mbcom/international/international_website/de/com/international_home/home/heritage/museum.html very scary and discussing......taxis....old dudes cars......over-restored cars....recreactions........ Believe me, the ORIGINAL vintage race cars are not in the museum!!!!!!! Many cars are rebuilt/recreactions!!! The original once are in private hands!
Been there 2 times. Worth the visit, great cars and nice shop. Also nice is the delivery dep. were you as a customer can pick up your car and drive home with it. It's in Sindelfingen though, in the same building were Maybach holds it's office. You get a reserved parking spot when you arrive with a Ferrari at the MB-museum. Hello Wolf
LOL, I always get a reserved parking spot anywhere.....Rosso Bianco, Schlumpf, Hockenheim Ring, Titti-Bar.....wherever
The price Rental = its always firm and incl. everything and mile Escort = starts resonable and its getting more and more expensive during the "drive" and every special mile are some extra bucks
