I just saw this on supraforums.com.au and wondered who owns this car and if they are ok. Hopefully they have insurance and can have the car repaired soon. Apparently the car is from Wollongong. Anyone know the owner?

I cant stand to see a ferrari like this!

I read about this on another forum a few days ago and it mentioned that he broke his toe :D
I would hope you have insurance when you buy an expensive car like that :)
    Thanks for the vid :)

It is highly likely that he wasn't covered.

It happened on a racetrack. Insurance does not cover motorsport.

Most insurance policies do not cover vehicles at track events.

Mmmm, after watching the vid, I'm amazed that the guy is on a track day and NOT wearing a helmut.

If you were an underwriter, would you be interested in writing a policy with such a high risk? If an insurance company ever offers cover for a track day, I would read the detail of the policy very carefully. On the track, the risk is all yours.

i think you will find he removed the helmet in haste after the prang. how he lost it has me f****d. the grunt isn't that hard coming out of the rear wheels but a bit too much correction from the front tyres will snap the arse out straight away.once you are on the grass , you are toast. i don't think pumping the air with your fist after the event is a good move. keep him off a track for his own good.

I dunno for Oz, but here in Europe , some companies cover you for track days as long as its not a competitive event ( no race , no winner , no prize etc.. )

Exactly. What sort of moron would celebrate crashing a car like this into a concrete barrier?

what sort of LSD setup does it have? from take-off he's spinning the wheels a bit, and then it appears the right side just grabs the tarmac and he's unable to lift-off fast enough (or thought he could recover it) before hitting the grass.

it's reasonable to assume there'll be somewhat uneven grip on the track, and the left tyre just didn't bite. it appears he's dialled in a little bit of opposite-lock, but the car at that point is only steering from the back.
