    Hi all

You may have seen on the other 348 thread that I am new around these parts, in search of a LHD 348 TS. I am ideally after yellow, but keep seeing good option reds, as below. Does anybody know this car? I've seen the ad on the FOC site. Incidentally, I have removed the contact info.

I e-mailed the guy asking firstly, when the belts were done, and secondly if it was colour coded hard top or not.

I understand service history is key, and as such mileage is therefore second to sound mechanics and receipts etc, but would ideally like everyone's thoughts on this car inparticular (if you know it), and also it's spec/price.

    Thanks everyone for reading,
    Tony

ah, it's ok guys, do not worry. I've been conversing with the owner and the car has done 76k miles - which is over and above what I'm looking for.

    Thanks for reading anyway!

Not surprised with that mileage, the guy is totally out of touch.
He was asking likr £8K for that plate a few months ago & now it's £5K (priced to sell)

Exactly right, when I spoke to him he said the plate is up for £5k elsewhere (gulp!!!)

I think the car is a little over priced for the mileage too, regardless of it's exterior condition. Ah well, never mind - it's half the fun looking anyway!

    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi guys,

Yes I had seen that one - it's on Autotrader also (thought I recognised the picture from somewhere!). It's a TB, and I'm after a TS. To be honest, the price etc. etc, so long as everything rang true (history, mileage, servicing etc) I'd be there like a shot, but it's the hard top. I know I'd regret not getting a TS for those summer roof out moments.
Equally I would go and have a look at it, if it wasn't the complete opposite end of the country to me! (I live in Kent).

If it was a TS, I'd be there.....though, it does seem like a VERY good price!

Thanks very much for pointing it out guys - appreciate the effort

Hi Tony and welcome. I just sold my old 348ts to David Miller forza288.com. It had 53,000 kms on the clock and was in very very good condition. I spent a hell of a lot of money on it. Check out the spec and if you any info on it I am willing to help.

Is it the red one, number plate G132...?

That does look very good, and a reasonable price too!!

Can I ask for the particulars of the car, i.e. it's history, the exhaust, etc? Please e-mail me through my profile should you wish to do it offline.

I do very much like the look of that....

    Thanks
    Tony

That's the one. Just sold it last week. Call David at www.forza288.com and he will give you the run down on the car.

    Is that km's? - if so its 47.5k miles,right?
15yrs old,3k per year.It aint even half way through its life yet.
I know alot of lhd ones are advertised converted into miles.

348 engines are strong.I appreciate you'd like a low mileage one but I'd be pretty suspicious of lhd with say 20k miles on a 15 year old car.

    good luck

You raise a good point, Nick.

In fact my post caused confusion - it has done 76000 miles (but I was lazy and wrote 76000 as 76k).

It is definately miles as well (i.e. not kilometres).

In fact Iwas a little jubious as the guy slightly hid it's mileage. He said it had a zero mph speedo when imported in '99, which has now done 46000miles. It was only when I questioned what was before that did he say another 30000miles.

Anyway, I am indeed looking at cars around the 40,000 mile mark which I have no worries about!

    Thanks for the comments
    Tony

    Yep,sounds iffy,you're dead right.

If you have the time, try and look at loads (I know this isnt possible for evereyone).
I think I looked at 9 or 10 as I was out of work for a bit.

When I found my 348 everything about the deal looked right and I'd nosed
round loads of others so it was easy to make the choice.

I found the ones at the bottom end of prices in autotrader were wasted journeys.

    happy hunting

    nickster
