I'll probably be able to make it...I will be flying solo that weekend so maybe I'll grab a gal pal and catch up with you guys.
The problem I'm having is that Ferrari of Houston is having its annual track day that weekend. Hmm... drive Ferraris on the track or drive to Dallas. Drive Ferraris on the track or drive to Dallas. Drive Ferraris on the track or drive Ferraris on the track... Dale
Our Sunday driving on the track will only cost you $20 a session and I'll talk to my boss, but it might even be expensable! Although at FoH you might get a chance in a 360 GT vs. just a 355 C.
Okay, now if that does get the guys to come out of the woodwork nothing will. I look forward to it Speed Racerette! Which one do you prefer, Pappas or Nick & Sam's?
So after Rob's post, its drive Ferraris on the track in Houston or drive to Dallas; have dinner with the guys and gals; meet Wolgang and drive Ferraris at the track. Hmmm, should be an easy choice now! Nick
I'll be there Friday, but I won't make it on Saturday. Heading out to the ranch. The one with the cows, not "Fantasy Ranch".
Howdy Texas, I`m exciting looking forward to meet everybody this weekend. Nick`s schedule looks fantastic and I`m sure we will have lots of fun together. About Friday - the arrival day: We (Thorsten the pilot and I) will arrive at 13:40p.m. DFW. We would appreciate to drive first for a very quick stop to our Hotels to get rid of our luggage, check in (cause its getting late in the evening/night when we will arrive back in our Hotels). Thorsten needs to change clothes cause he don`t wants to walk around for the rest of the day/evening in his LUFTHANSA pilot suit, talikng a quick shower after already 15 hours on the road. Hope its not too much trouble and the time schedule is still o.k.?! CU soon Wolfgang
Wolfgang, Dont worry I already have that all planned. I will pick you up at the airport in my SUV, so we can all fit. I will then take you to the hotel to check in, shower, etc. Friday approx. 3:30 or so (see items above) Unique Performance 13950 Senlac Drive Suite 300 Farmers Branch, TX 75234 aprox. 4:30 Lambo of Dallas 6:30 till ??? I am not sure about Friday or Saturday yet, but I should be at MSR on Sunday in my 911. Please wave as you pass me in your Ferrari.
Sunday MSR Plans: Rain or Shine (I have rain tires for the 355 C now) 8:30am - Meet at Rob's, Jennie will make a breakfast casserole. 9:00am - Leave Rob's 10:15am - Arrive MSR We'll get 2-3 sessions in by 4-5pm. FerrariChat.com MSR members that will be there Me (355 C) Collin (Audi race car or 512 TR) Rob (911) Guests Wolfgang Need to know who else is going and whether you are a member or not. Number of guests shouldn't be a problem as it looks like we already have 3 members at this point. Everyone will be able to run as a passenger. MSR has driver suits and helmets you can rent for around $20. MSR will have to approve any guests that wish to drive. Generally you need a decent amount of track experience. One weekend of driver education might not be enough, but if you have done a few weekends and have solo'd, then you should be approved. Basic Track Driving Rules at MSR 1) Only pass in the 3 longest straights (sometimes it is OK in the 4th short straight). No passing in braking zones or corners! 2) Track etiquette is for car being passed to hold their normal driving line and for the passing car to go offline to make the pass. No sudden movements trying to get out of the way, it is the passers job to safely get around. 3) Point bys are appreciated (technically mandatory) lets the passer know you see them and expect them to go a certain way. 4) Track driving like this is car/driver vs. the track, not car/driver vs. car/driver. 5) If lap after lap a car is all over your bumper in corners and starting the straight, then they are simply faster than you for the overall lap. Too many experienced track drivers won't let a car by, but they really just have more power down the straight. Since there is no corner passing, this keeps the faster lap car from getting by. Some of the fastest cars you'll see on MSR are Spec Miatas or Spec RX7's, yet they have no straight speed. Please let me know if you are interested and whether you will meet us at the track or my house. This will be a fun day!
I'll try to use my connections in the hospitality industry to get us in the door at the unofficial event with no cover charge.
