Horsing Around: Ferrari 360 Challenge

Received an email today from Robb Report, Sheila Gibson Stoodley;

Although the first race of the season takes place from April 1 to 3, it is not too late to sign up for the 2005 campaign of the Ferrari 360 Challenge, an amateur racing series for Ferrari owners. In fact, it is never too late, according to Ferrari Challenge Manager Maria Homann-McNeil. “Since you can run even only one race if you want, it technically never closes,” she says. That initial race, the Grand Am California 200, is expected to draw 23 drivers to the California Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

Competitors must hold a valid license from the race series sanctioning body, the Grand American Road Racing Association (Grand Am), and must possess a Ferrari 360 Modena that is equipped to race in accordance with the series rules. Drivers also have to register and pay entry fees: $3,500 for a single race, $10,000 for three races, or $17,500 for the season, a price that excludes the finals, which will be held from October 20 to 23 at the Vallelunga racetrack near Rome.
