    YUP.

But, if you're trying to buy this stuff, knowing the market is important.

    Dave,

Could you set this up as a graph so we can chart all our individual investments?

So a Dino Owners' Pouch is worth twice as much as a tool kit..?!

    Gosh.

Ya know Freeman, sometimes I'm not sure if your kidding, or serious, but, of course I have this as an excel spread sheet.

you can email me any of your individual items, or all of them, and I can incorporate it in the spreadsheet.

Or, i can email it to you, and then, if it ain't too much trouble, you could email a copy back to me.

    Scary, isn't it?

But, it seems that more folks hung on to the tool kit than hung on to the books.

I think it's the pouch itself that's scarce, not the contents.

    Dave,

Actually I'm only halfway kidding. I collect this stuff because I'm passionate about it. There really isn't enough research and places one can go to educate oneself on what came with these cars when new. Whatever you post I read, study and compare. As an example, go to www.356.ca/tools/ and check out what the 356 Porsche guys are doing on this website.

Geez, and I thought I was anal about this stuff. That 356 chart is pretty amazing. (And helpful as I'm looking at a '61 right now.)

I'm trying to figure out what came with my car, and if along the way I learn what came with other cars, then more the better.

I'm slowly, with some amazing outside help, getting my Dino pouch and tools together. I actually got a clock tag by accident, with a recent purchase on ebay. I was looking for new innards for my clock, to effect a repair, and got the tag for free. Total cost $45.

Send me your notes, I'll add them to the chart.

    dave,

in all fairness, your clock tag is a 308 clock tag and not a dino clock tag. not that the 308 clock tag is a commonly seen item, but it is different.

    Ahh.

Now peters feels that tag is similar enough to the 246 tag not to be a problem at a concours, and he is, after all, a judge, right?

tach cloths, clock tags, key fobs, dealer directories, supplements, warranty cards are NOT required in FCA judging.

    Acceptable reproductions are allowed.

Looking for Pouch and 2 manuals as a bare minimum.
No extra points given for the extras, just nice to see prepared entrants.

I was at the IAC/PFA meeting this was discussed at.

    Dave,

I have a '56 356A Speedster and a '57 356A Coupe. If you have any questions on 356's or any old or new Porsche let me know. If I don't know the answer I have a great network of knowledgable people that can help you out.

So where is the best source for glass for a '69 Porsche 912? (Eventually will need all glass; windshield, back glass, everything.)

Yikes! Glad I'm focusing on the 70's and 80's cars.

A complete set of books, tool kit and the key fob = half of what I paid for my 308. I better accumulate those parts before you guys start chasing after them...

The nice, really nice, thing about the 308 is there are lots of them, and that means that some of them (lots maybe) have become or will become parts cars over the next 20 years or so.

Deeper pool, more stuff, lower prices, better all around for the 308 guys.

Hey, where are the pics of the new 308?????

I've got to drive over to TN once Spicy wakes up and get BBQ for her mom. Was going to get plates for it this afternoon (I hope) and go get it tomorrow. I'll post pics soon.
