Does anyone have the short 15 second music that SC used use before the start of F1 and still uses for F1 decade. I think it is the official F1 jingle. I would love to get that and use it is a ring tone.

You could capture it on VHS OR DVD-R and transfer over to your Mac/PC using digital audio interface/software.

From there I'm not sure how you would get it to your phone. Maybe upload via e-mail or FTP software...

I can pull the video off my Tivo and do it digitally. Maybe tonight if I get a chance.

Good luck! That would be cool, to hear that when your phone rings!

Let me know if you get it to work...

Maybe you could post it for others to use also...!

Once you get it you have to convert it to midi then go to
    http://stt2.smashsworld.com/
and send it to your pnone for free or $1.25 to move to the head of the line. I have found there was no line late at night.

Not sure if it is the right theme ... but try searching for 'F1 theme ringtone' and you will find plenty of free ringtones.

Not what I am looking ... I want the engine sound! ;)

    Here it is:

    http://www.dellanave.com/files/F1_intro.mp3

The catch is, it needs to be cut about 45 seconds off the beginning and a few off the end, and for some reason I don't have any of my audio tools installed. I figure someone can easily do this. Then send it back and I'll host it for everyone.

That's not quite it :( That is the 'new' theme they use. ASG is looking for the old one that, as stated, is still used for F1 Decade. Record one of those and we'll be all set !

I can edit it if it can be captured.

Actually as I was capturing it, I was thinking....this isn't the one I'm thinking of. I'll set the Tivo to record the next F1 Decade and do the same.

For now, I'm going to try this one out as a ringer.
    -
And I did. Not a very good ringer at all. I'll get the other one done asap.

It depends on what kind of phone you have. I just did a Magnum PI ringer for my Kyocera 7135. I have a separate utility that converts any MP3 file to downloadable ringers for that phone. Nokias and other phones are different.

Samsungs use *.mmf (SMAF) format, which is a form of midi. Here's a couple of software packages that can convert MP3 (and other formats) to what you need.

    www.ringtone4me.com

    www.codingworkshop.com

Inside the ZIP file I've placed here is a 3-second .MMF version I made with the RingTone4Me evaluation version (unzip before installing it to your phone). It's a better program than the one from CodingWorkshop.

    Hope that helps!

Next F1 Decade is 4/3, which I've set to record. The first one posted really doesn't make a good ringer at all, I've got it on my phone. I use 3gupload.com for my phone. It costs like $10/year but it gets you all the ringers and stuff they have, plus a pretty good tool for uploading your own pictures and sound files, and it handles the conversion. My phone takes .qcp (Qualcomm something) files, and I just uploaded the mp3.

Could someone cut down that DJ Visage (sp?) MS song and use some parts of that?

Were getting close...Mike the first one is good, but prob wont do well on a phone, but a laptop as "New Mail" would be good. Can't wait for the other off the decade show. BTW, what is the best way to convert for Motorola.

I am guessing that the reason why it linked to a Fleetwood Mac song is that when the BBC used to show F1 they had 'The Chain' By Fleetwood Mac as the theme tune. If you know the song, it was the bit that went Duum DumDumDum DumDum Dum DumDum Duuuuuuum etc!
