In the console of my 308, I have kept a broken fake Rolex watch. I actually watched a guy case my car and steal the watch yesterday afternoon from 15 feet away (I was on my cell phone pretending not to pay attention to his activity)! When he opened the door to get the watch, I fumbled with my cell phone to take a picture and before I could, he bolted into his car and sped off.

    Place: Local Casino
Car: POS Taurus wagon / Handicap plate
Thief: Looked liked a real lowlife on meth

I'm sure I will see him in town soon. For fun, I'll call a few pawn shops this AM, as I am sure he will show up to sell this fine watch! When he realizes what he has, he may not be doing this again!

So you left the door unlocked on purpose? I don't think I'd put a fake Rolex in like that because some of these crooks are stupid enough not to try to the door and just break the window out of instinct. It would be funny to see his face at a pawn shop when he's told it's fake, lol :D

Sorry but I don't think you can teach a thief a lesson. I know this because one used to live in my house. You will always be the bad guy, and they will always steal. Its just the way it is. Stealing begins at a very early age and is not an easy habit to break. It becomes a way of life for them.

    Be careful there Peter.

This unfortunate gentleman that was "baited" by a rich and arrogant Ferrari owner, has suffered mental anguish over the unfair humiliation that was FORCED on him. The act of purposefully tricking this law abiding, God-fearing man is clearly actionable.

I suspect the depression and lack of sexual consortium that will follow will be a crippling event.

I hope your umbrella policy is paid up.

Any personal injury lawyers on the site??

Letting the guy steal a fake rolex IS funny, but what if the extension cord holding his pants up had scratched your paint?

This is amusing. It would have been truly funny if he had tried to catch the actual 9mm that should have been in your hand instead of the cell phone ;)

Hahahaha Pete you big dork! If you see him around town, you should ask him how he liked the fake Rolex he stole. Now that'll send him home scratching his head. LOL.

I agree with glassman - the baiting was like putting a beer in front of an alcoholic then busting him. Of course, if you help police catch him for something else it will help keep the streets safe.

Lowlifes like this piece of scum-sucking trash need to be off the streets. They will be in your home's in the middle of the night next. Send me your fake Rolex watches and I'll do it again!

Reporting him was great - hopefully the police can catch him for something more substantial along with the petty theft. Just be careful playing vigilante!

I saw this guy downtown last night and re-confirmed his plate number, as there was a digit missing when the casino called it in on Friday. I called the Sherrif and they confirmed they had his home address (They did not give it to me). A deputy called me back to get more details and assured me that this guy will be pulled over or visited at his home and "will be given the full attention of the law".

I wish I had another fake Rolex, so when I see him again, I could introduce myself to him and apologize for the fact that the watch he stole from my car did not work and I wanted to give him one that did! (OK, thats my own sense of twisted humor).

I told the Sherrif that I did not care about the watch, nor to prosecute him, but he needs a 'visit' from the law as a wakeup call.
