Don't know Andreas - just got the PS-2 and have been playing GT4 on a 53" big screen with the Logitech wheel - pretty hardcore fun. Don't know if it's realistic or not, but I am learning some things: such as I tend to cut corners short instead of picking a fast line.

I like UG2 as well (on the PC) - but all the racing's at night!

I'll be mating the PC to the 53" soon so an apples-apples comparison will be cool. I'm sure the rez will blow the PS2 away.

No doubt you can learn a few tricks on GT4, it is very good and a lot of fun, but to be a sim it lacks damage modelling for starters. Another thing that irks me is the stability control on basically every car. You can do impossible things with these cars going into turns where in real life you would have either lost it or ended up in an endless roll.

Try out F1 2002 Challenge on the PC. Now there is a realistic game for you. Down to modelling of brake wear etc (to be fair, GT4 does model tire wear as well). FIA-GTR is probably the state of the art sim anywhere, but IMHO not much fun to drive.

I've never played any game online. There are some very good infantry WWII shooters --Call of Duty is excellent -- where you can play PC offline or online, but like you, I'd probably get killed within ten seconds of signing on. Save that stuff for the 12 year olds who were born with a keyboard in their hands.

Pacific Fighters looks like my kind of stuff. As in automobiles, when it comes to aviation I'm fascinated by the Vintage.

BTW, is there a Vintage racing PC game available, with some choice Ferraris, perhaps?
