How can a company spend 6 months to a year building a racecar and end up with so many problems with such a basic component? You know Rubens and the race engineers have to be sweating now.
Michael's F2005 has suffered hydraulic failure. No Gear Box issues! Ruben's is continuing the fight for Ferrari!
Source? Isn't the shifting on the F1 tranny hydraulic? I'm not disagreeing, but there's no such statement on f1.com or pitpass.com
Michael has just suggested he may have picked some debris of the track. Damaged a hydraulic cooler or something
Michael's quick 2 second statement... to the reporter who clearly did not realize it was best to leave Michael be at a time like this.
The shifting is hydraulic on an F1 tranny. If pressure is lost or a valve goes bad the tranny is stuck in one gear and only one gear. The hydraulics is there to provide a quick and powerful movement of the shift drum inside of the gearbox. Rob
From the looks of the tires, MS wouldn't have been competetive towards the end.. And Reubens is driving quite a wide car.. Yet PdLR isn't helping himself by running off everytime he gets on Reuben's wing..
Explain to me again why Minardi is allowed on the track? The Webber/De La Rosa battle was great. I was hoping Rubens could hold 8th after JV quit, but it didn't happen Hey, is he officially the number 1 driver for the Scuderia now?
What a drag this season has been so far - at least for the F team. Must be a very exciting year in France (and Spain - Fernando is going to be a god).
Explain to me again why Minardi is allowed on the track? 20 car rule per track contract. Minardi is a farce and needs to go. It's time to run some other cars and let this egg rot.
Remember, in 2003 Michael said his season began in Europe and I think it will happen again. Car looks very good, once gearbox issues are sorted (plus cooler temps which allegedly help the Bridgestones). Three weeks off now and hopefully they will get come more miles in the gearbox (if testing is allowed?).
How is this component basic? It's a CF shell with some gear bits inside of it. You obviously know how to put CF trannies together. Give them a ring and show them where they are going wrong. I mean, it is so simple, Tilly. Show em how it's done.
That wasn't very nice. And exactly how many races have YOU been in? You armchair critics crack me up. Tom
I'm glad to see Toyota doing so well because they've invested a lot of money and gotten nothing out if it in the past. Pretty cool to see both Renault drivers from last year finishing 1-2 in the last two races.
Another great race with lots of battles and Alonso is just superb. Great job by Massa. Must be painful for Ferrari to see themselves getting passed by the B team. I wonder how competitive Michael had been if his gearbox had worked: Based on Rubens' tires it might have been another Sepang altogether. I think we'll finally see another WC being crowned at the end of the season. Catalunya prepare for celebrations!
