    We are currently expanding over to China for several large window films contracts in Hong Kong & Beijing. Since, we are working on commercial flat glass security films, we were also wondering what the market is like over in Asia for paint protection films. We have been specializing in ppf (paint protection films) for nearly 7 years in the U.S. and is a very strong market.

    Just wanted to see what my overseas f-chat brothers know about paint protection in the following areas - Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, & Taiwan. From our overseas contacts, 3M is already in Singapore, but has not surfaced in any of the other countries / regions.

    Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

    3m and other films are VERY VERY common here in HK already. Anyone going on the China drives knows how many paint chips you accumulate and usually get the film done after a respray. My 355 is about to get it done. I already have 3M on my Elise in Zhuhai.

    Very interesting... but is it a film, similar like tinted glass film or something you apply like wax to the surface or is it sprayed on???

    It is a clear urethane film that goes over the frontal areas of the car to prevent rock chips. The film can be removed w/o any adverse affects on the paint........no two tone effects, no peeling off of paint (as long as it is OE paint), etc.
