    Thanks Justin - looks great.

Did the seller tell you if he tried to match a Ferrari blue (TdF or NART etc.)? From the picture, it almost looks like TdF. Looking forward to the outdoor pics. Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
Nope, I did not get to talk to the seller at all as I bought it from a shop that does consignments, therefore I am not sure whether his colour was deliberate.
    Outdoor pics shall come soon!
    Thanks~

I've looked at 3 or 4 Kyosho F40's. One thing has has stood out for me was the inconsistansies of the models. Some of them have really lousy headlight glueing, and on 2 of the 4 the rear Ferrari emblem was missing letters. One of them had a jammed front wheel and the ride hieight was totaly wrong. Some of the paint wok around the dooe windows was really bad.

Overall detail was goo though, and the interior's were awsome. I have only seen on F40 that was near perfect and a hobby store near me. I went back to buy it..but it was sold before I got back to the store.

If your are looking for one of these, just inspect the car fully and carefully. the last thing you want to do is spend 300 bucks and only see the flaws!!

Kyosho is still far and above most models out there. When i find the right F40 I will be buying..but the ones I have seen most have failed the PPI.

Is the Tamiya F50 available in 1/12 Kit Form, or does it come pre-assembled.?

    Nice ones Justin - thanks.

I'd say you really came upon a special deal when you saw this car. I love the blu TdF (very close to TdF to me anyway).

Hi, at first I was going to say buy the Enzo, but after reading the others, I must agree that the Tamiya Enzo is a bit fragile. It does look rather spectacular once it is completed, but you might be better to go for the F40, and wait for the Kyosho Enzo to come out. Hope this helps.

Lightweight version is not available at the moment is it?

Anyone know when it will be? Realistically?

Also does anyone know of any new 1/12 modern supercars coming out soon?

    Regards,

    Matthew

I'm new to this forum but it's nice to know that there are others like me out there!

Here are my views on the comments I've read concerning the Kyosho F40. I built a 1/12 scale Fujimi F40 from a kit. The wheels on this model are fantastic - chrome plated rims and higly detailed Pirelli tyres with all the markings. The body panel fit though is appalling and the hood and bonnet do not line up with the main body of the car. I have now bought a Kyosho F40 which is much better. I was hoping to be able to swap the Fujimi wheels with the Kyosho wheels but can't and the Fujimi's wheels are actually bigger. I may resort to getting the wheels chrome plated as another contributer has done. I have bought a 'Light Tune' LM transkit from autoplacemodel.com. It is very good and the wheels are very similar to the OZ's coming on the 'light weight' version from Kyosho. I am currently in the process of modifying the Revell 1/12 plastic kit's front end to LM spec. Watch this space. I have attached a couple of wheel photos!

    Hi Christian,

The Kyosho 'lightweight F40' has the same body as their standard F40. The only differences are that the side windows have the perspex openings in them. The wheels are black OZ rims. The autoplacemodel transkit has the modified LM rear wing, LM front spoiler and a set of wheels whic as you can see from my previous link I've spayed silver and made my own OZ decals. The only thing they have done is the bonnet/hood for the LM - that's why I'm working on one of my own.

I will post more pics soon.

    Hi John,

You did a great job on the F40 LM, luckily you got one, it was out of supply... How will you make the bonnet/hood of the LM?

The photos I am working from as reference have the car with these silver rims and I like the look. I will post photos soon of my bonnet/hood progress. I am using the revell plastic 1/12 kit as a doner which needs LOTS of modification!

That's definitely a lot of work, otherwise, they (APM) will make the bonnet for their transkit for sure....

new guy here troy . would it have been so hard for kyosho to do a LM kit in diecast or a new LM version model diecast? seeing that i here from most suppliers of the regular version now say the old one does not sell or slow slow mover.
i have the autoplacemodel lm kit . but will it ever get installed / not a model builder or good painter.
we all know about the pocher f40 . if you compare stock kit version to a 1:12 kyosho. you have to say the kyosho is much more detailed. although you can do SO MUCH more with the mods to pocher.

is there and 1:12 plastic model parts AT ALL out there that could be used with the kyosho with out too much trouble? DOES anyone know how to get the kyosho f40 apart?
i took out all the bottom screws , hood screws got hood off( carefull of wire suports ) took out screws in rear inner fender panels and 4 under tailgate / engine compartment screws i seen easy. but nothing esle came a part.

would like to swap so tailgates and seats. as is real there is a yellow f40 with the red/blk seats versus the all blk found in the kyosho. still trying to find SIZE wise a replacement for the metal ferrari word on back 2mm high and 14 mm long. closest i get is 12 mm or 16or 18 mm somewhere around there. and they are all dull metal these things fall off lkie butter.

why do the kyosho f40's not come with the front spare tire? i might take the fronts wheels off one of my extra kyosho's to use as spares for 2 of my others . they fit in no problem. then sell the wheel less mint car. i have not including one fujimi f40 , 7 kyosho's . 3 yellow and 4 red...

the fujimi does have more accurate / nicer tires . chrome rims look better but in real are not quite as accurate. the paint / fit/ detail on part sucks . do the headlights pop up on the fujimi and what about gas cap doors ?

i have a collection of diecast over 2000 cars most are 1:18. plus always looking to barter or trade , in favor dollar wise to the trading partner. not keeping any nascar stuff,so i have a ton of 1:24 / 1:64 nascar cars , originals going back years up to 2003.example you give me value of 100 you walk away with serveral hundred.

i will some day get some pochers f40's. and the many accessorie kits / parts out there. who does the chrome of parts etc .supply detail please? does anyone have a kyosho 1:12 door mirror glass piece drivers or passnger side would work it's a chromed plastic piece pops in and out easy . or where you find materal or some made of the same material i can trim down to make one?
