IMO the ugliest stock wheels EVER are on the Jaguar XJ220. WTF was Jag thinking? The car is so beautiful, but the wheels really damage the overall appearence.

If I remember correctly there is an F-Chat member with a black XJ220 with aftermarket wheels that look great.

I always hated the stock wheels on the original BMW 750 IL. They look similar to the Jaguar XJ220 liste above! Solid disc...ughhh

Agreed! I was actually going to include that in my first post. They are practically a chromed version of the Jags :)

The Jag's wheels are designed that way for a purpose IIRC, brake cooling with minimal aerodynamic drag..remember it's supposed to be able to hit 220mph. That justifies the look. The ugliest standard rims IMO are the W220 S-class/CLK320 and the SC430.

I actually like the stock wheels on the XJ220... it flows with the lines of the car and it reflects the design and fashion of wheels at the time..... The BBS mesh type wheels on the black XJ220 disrupts the overall silhouette of the car IMO and don't match.... I wholeheartedly agree with Kevin though... The fan blade wheels on the original E34 M5 are butt ugly... They look like white wall tires at a distance... Luckily it's just a plastic cover and you can swap it out to make it look like the later version throwing star wheels, which is basically a different cover.... they look like this, which IMO are one of the best looking wheels..

Some MB stock rims are pretty bad.

The first generation M5 had a bad habit of warped rotors so BMW decided to make a three-piece wheels that would cool down the brakes and it worked.

You think the M-Parallel 18" rims are ugly?!?! (the last two pics) You're crazy! I think they're the best looking rims BMW made for the E38 7-series. In general, BMW makes ugly stock rims (usually 16" and 17" kinds)

I owned an early Porsche 964, and thought it was a gorgous car, but the wheels were horrible. I called one of those wheel swap shops, and they wouldn't give me a nickel for the stock rims, they said they can't give them away.

The rims are called Design 90 rims. Yes, it doesn't do justice to the car's lines and yes, very difficult to swap. My friend back in UK days had the same problem. But if the car is lowered, it wouldn't look so bad...JMO
