This past week I had a very pleasant experience with a PPI on a 1983 512BBi that I am buyng. I am in Florida, the car is in Southern California. Flew to Costa Mesa, feeling a bit overwhelmed as I had never seen the car, nor heard of Carobu Engineering. Carobu was recommended to me here on FChat. Then there was the concern as to the shipping of my new toy.

I arrived early, to be pleasantly surprised with Carobu's excellent facility. There was a bodiless 308 race car, and a beautiful Daytona coupe that received a no expense spared uprade. Brembo discs with 17" rims, "tuned engine" with a cold air induction system, new interior, etc. And the two Daytona spyders in Carobu's body shop were receiving excellent attention as to detail for their new finishes. Very impressive. Yet very comfortable.

I met with Tate, and the inspection began. Tate did not hesitiate to answer any and all of my rumbling questions. After two hours I felt quite at ease with the entire process, and despite a few "issues" with the car, I decided to move forward with the purchase. Additionally, I am having Carobu do some work on the car before they ship it to me. The can have the Konis rebuilt to be adjustable for ride height. I would love to have them put on those massive Brembo's, but for now I think I will wait.

If any of you are considering not only buyng a Ferrari in southern California, or already have a car and need excellent service, then I can highly recommend Carobu Engineering in Costa Mesa. (949)722-9307

For what it's worth, I had a very good experience with Intercity Lines (Fchat sponsor) to have my car moved from NC to MA.

SHARK, I am using Exotic Car Transport out of Orlando. Because they are based in Florida, they were 25% cheaper than all the other major shippers. Not to mention everyone I spoke to was really pleased withtheir service.

Have done business with Tate Casey at Carobu and also Intercity Transport on the Mondial 3.2 - both are world class great and have my highest recommendation.

Lightweight flywheel by Tate. Less than 2 week turnaround (uses stock ring gear). A thing of beauty (to my judgement). Shame it is hidden!

I used Exotic one time to ship a Hemi Roadrunner from Florida to So. Cal. in an enclosed semi trailer. They did a great job ... If I recall correctly, it took about 7 days from p/u to delivery at my home .... I think it cost right around $ 1,300.
