Hi Everyone, I took my car (M3) in for the inspection 2 service last Thursday. Yesterday I noticed the engine cover was never touched because some nuts were loose before and after the service.... Long story short, I decided to check if the spark plugs were changed. Here were my results I am positive they didn't do the valve job also. They keep stating they did the work. LIARS They have been reported to the various consumer organizations.
Dude, arent you the guy who posted pix of your trunk, and the shoddy job that Habberstad did in making a warranty structual repair a while back? Why do you continue to go back there and then b!tch abt them. Seems like they have a habit of punking you. But you also keep coming back for more.
well sadly as bad as habberstad is, they are one of the "better", and i use that word loosely, dealerships on Long Island... They were crappy to me but i kept on going back because they were my "home" dealer and gave me a loaner..... but now i drive Hondas and come to think of it, i haven't visited a dealership yet
Yep that's me. Regardless of the horrible job they did on my frame I don't think I should have to worry about a repair shop doing this type of ****. Maybe they can't fix a frame properly but this is routine maintainence. If you consider "b!tching" making people aware of a wrong being committed then I will continue to b!tch. I'm sure many of the guys on here have bmw's and maybe they even take their car to habberstad now they can see what type of work there getting... No disrespect meant
Erik Habberstad is a good friend of mine. I got their side of the story when he originally posted about the "butcher repair". They tell a much different story. I do NOT speak for them, but seriously: Go to another dealer and stop being a gimp.
I would honestly love to hear their side of the story, there shouldn't be much of a difference than mine. They say I took the car off-roading... How credible could they possibly be. They blame me for every single thing that happens to that car. They flat out lie to me. On one occasion I couldn't get there on time to get my car so I asked for a "late pick-up". They flat out told me they don't offer that. So I told them to leave the car unlocked with the keys hidden; they did that. When I went to pick up the car the SES light was still on. I went into the show room and to the receptionist and let her know the light was still on. While talking to her, a guy came to pick up his X5 from service. Someone pulled his car out from the back and he was given all of his paper work. Take that for what it's worth......
sharif, sell the m3 and never go back habberstad, so habberstand be happy. buy my f355, you be happy. my f355 gone, my wife be happy. i then can look into a 360 spider, i be happy. everyone be happy. its a good thing. dOnT tHiNk jUsT dO zEn! wHaT WHaT?!
What exactly do you mean by bad ? By bad do you mean driving the car hard once in a while like it was designed to ? If so then yes I am a bad driver. I love how your justifying a sub frame seperating in a performance vehicle. Incase you didn't realize there are numerous parts that are suppose to break/bend before a frame is compromised. I am sure they billed BMW a ****load of money for the bull **** warranty frame work they did on my car. The correct way to repair what happened to my car is replace the whole trunk floor, not just put a weld here and there. Check out BMWUSA.com new ad for the m3 competition package. There claiming a street-legal race car. They should stand behind their product. If I am really responsible for what happened to my car I feel really bad for all of the people that actually drive their car hard, they are in for a treat. If they go to habberstad BMW for service then they are in for FRAUD and being lied to. Did my bad driving also cause them not to change the spark plugs and LIE ? I know they are your friends but wrong is wrong. Chris, I think your car is awesome but I want a yellow 355 spider or yellow 996TT. I am just waiting for the frame issue to get resolved in court then I'll decide what to do in regards to a car.
Chris is damn right. They don't really care. You get the usual "each dealer is independent....." One rep I spoke to is actually going to report it to bmw corporate... not sure what that means. Maybe BMW corporate is what they call their toilets ?
--- never upshift beflow 5500 rpm, warm or cold. --- never use 6th gear. --- redline 1st and 2nd on daily basis, 3rd too if traffic and safety permits. --- one launch control per week. --- no surface too rough, no pothole too big. no place i dont go. dAt'S hOw i dO mA mThRee *****!
No wonder the car fell apart. It is still a road car at the end of the day and if you beat it up everyday thinks will break and car will fall apart. Race cars that driven to potential and re-built after every race no one can expect road cars to take the same punishment and last forever.
actually my car holds up pretty well. but the point is: if i CHOOSE to drive the way i do as described above, i do not mind the car fall apart, but bmw must fix it under warranty if anything does go wrong. i can care less what how much of POS it becomes 3 ys later when warranty is out, but within the warranty period, fix it no matter how i beat on it. do not make a car with 8000rpm redline, call it a race car on street, but tell the user"oh u really should baby it and shift at 7000rpm once every while". of course, this has nothing to do with sharif vs. habberstad.
Chris's car didn't fall apart, my car did and I don't drive my car very hard. I'm not good with words and **** but ditto everything Chris said. Much respect man.
