Aight fellas.....Thursday is the 23rd b-day, parents are takin me out Weds night for dinner. Problem is my dad is pretty narrow minded about food choice (read: steakhouse, american, seafood, that's it). Mom is takin me to Masa next week (can't wait) but need some recommendations for Weds night.

The three of us eat out a lot so just lookin for some recommendations on places.

    Thanks in advance

Too "old school" for me. Great food, though, I just like the eye candy better at Dylan and V. :)

I don't think any of the city steak houses compares to Luger's; the only one that is actually better is in Briarcliff, up in Westchester.

You are dead on...Luger's is still the best, but you need to know how to order so your not in and out in 60 min. And don't forget your PL Credit Card or lots of cash.

Luger's, the best. If you want to stay in Manhattan, Gallagher's is a close 2nd. Scalini Fedeli is amazing, nice place, great food, but the menu is probably a little too continental for what it sounds like your Dad really likes.

I love Lugers. Gallagher's is a lil old school for me.

Thanks for the recommendations. Deal is that pops has a meeting in midtown and I loves Capital Grille (went to school in Boston, a great Capital on Newbury) so we're goin there tomorrow. But I'm taking up a couple of those recommendations for next week!

Has anyone been to Masa yet? Is it only fixed price or is there an a la carte?

    Nobody likes Del Friscos ?

    If find it quite ok....

Also, give a look at Meghu. It's much better than what you can eat in Japan.
And less expensive than Massa. Though i'll try it out as well next time in NYC.

Yep, Del Frisco's is good. Problem is that there is no shortage of good steakhouses in NYC.

For something different yet safe for traditional meat lovers is Churrascaria Plataforma on 49th between 8th and 9th. Fantastic Brazilian grill house.
