We're kinda getting close. Any update yet? BTW: I have rigged a video camera post for inside the car footage. Should be fun.
Andreas - I was just thinking the same thing... my check cleared, and I have not received anything in the mail. Its less than 3 weeks away.........
Well, I'm not nervous about it. It's probably just different styles of running things. Whereas I can overdo it with play by play updates on who is joining go kart, the CAROC guys seem to take a more leisurely approach. But I'm quite confident that the event will take place as planned and all we really need to do is show up on time and that's that.
Like the rest of you, I have not received confirmation. Peter Webb is good about answering emails...I don't know if any of you have tried to contact him lately. I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in here yet either. Otherwise, the event is on the Autobahn Country Club calander on their website so there should be no worries. http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/CalendarNew/CalendarApril.html
I had an exchange of e-mails with Peter yesterday. This should be quite an event...he said he is getting lots of entries. So, any of you who are interested in lapping (as opposed to touring) should probably move quickly because the event may well sell out. He said he will be sending something out about the 15th with a package of directions, schedule and entry list confirmation.
Peter Webb sent out email confirmations to everybody who signed up. If you haven't received one, you should contact him. By the 15th he will send out detailed packages.
Peter tells me that, due in no small part to the strong turn-out by F-chatters, the first touring group on Saturday is going to be ALL ITALIAN cars!
Is anyone going sunday and not saturday or is the mass majority going on saturday? btw what time is the first group touring? -mike
This looks like fun: Here some of the participants in the touring group: Chris 1969 Ferrari 365 Mike 1984 Ferrari 308 Michael 1989 Ferrari Mondial Daniel 1995 Ferrari 355 Andreas 1984 Ferrari 308 Dave 1984 Ferrari 308 + 10 Alfas Schedule: 11:55am Touring Group 1 Drivers Meeting Paddock 12:00pm Touring Group 1 to grid 12:00pm-12:45pm Touring Group 1 on-track Our touring group is scheduled for Saturday.
What time does the touring group have to show up? I recall Peter stating we don't have to tech in...? We have 16 cars in the touring group... 1991 Alfa Spider 2000 Corvette 1969 Ferrari 356 1984 Ferrari 308 1989 Ferrari Mondial 1995 Ferrari 355 1984 Ferrari 308 1974 Alfa GTV 1969 Alfa GTV (GT3) 1967 Alfa GTV/A 1973 Alfa GTV Alfa ??? 1973 Alfa GTV 1974 Alfa GTV (allegedly stock) 1986 Alfa GTV6 1974 Alfa GTV
See my previous post: We have no tech inspection, so if you make it there by 11ish, you're good. The 69 Ferrari is probably a typo on the list. I think Chris has a 365 2+2.
I'm guessing that 2000 Corvette is a typo as well. He's probably in touring group2 as they only have 9 cars and he's the only non-Italian car in group1.
At any rate I'm thinking you'll be the one of our group driving circles around us. Smile for my camera when you lap me please.
If it's really going to be in the 30s and raining, it would probably be against my better judgement to run tomorrow on my Yoko A048s... If it was just rain, I'd go for it... but those tires need heat and the cold/wet combo could spell disaster. We'll see what happens I guess.
Just curious.... those of you touring.... what time are you planning on getting there? I was thinking around 10:30am
