is it the sideskirts that gives the car the illusion of different bodywork, or are the panels actually different?

the reason i ask is that my father is really set on getting a 360 spider and i want him to get a 360CS since he loves his GT2. I figured that maybe a good compromis would be to put the CS body kit on the spider, but i needed to know if the fenders are actually different. anyone know for sure? thanks...

I have a CS now, and previous to it i had a 360. I'm 99.9% sure the only diff is the skirts, on the CS square and sharp, and the 360 rounded. Hope that helps.

So you want him to get a CS only for the bodywork? That's like putting M3 parts on a 323 and considering that a reasonable compromise..

The 360 Spider is NOTHING like the CS, I've driven both extensively and they couldn't be more worlds apart.

Actually, the front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts are all different on the CS. This is mainly for aerodynamic improvement. The CS also has those F1 styled flaps/panels on the rear bumper (bottom) which helps air flow.
To the original poster, do NOT get the CS just for body styling. Udalmia hit the nail on the head: it IS like a 3-series with M3 body panels.

no, no, no... not at all... His argument is that the CS is too much like the gt2, so in order to justify the purchase of a ferrari, he would like something a little different than the gt2 since he is keeping it also. I just figured that if he really decides to get the spider over the CS, the bodykit would make it look a little better.... a better comparison would be: a 323 convertible with the Msport body kit > 323 convertible...I would like for him to get the CS because I know how different the two cars really are... I'm just having a hard time convincing him to spend 200K on a car that is very similar (performance-wise) to his GT2. I guess hed rather pay a little less and have a convertible, which is much different than the porsche....

how about he sells the GT2 and gets a Carrera GT instead? Best of both worlds :D

Isn't the CS shortened in the back, longer in the front and taller in the back than a standard 360? Doesn't also have a different engine cover with a slightly raised little spoiler?
