Sunday is open to the public. Hope to see some of you! http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55045
It's close to Lake Como, yeah? I've always fancied going, it's only a couple of hours from where I live but I'm away this weekend. Hope there'll be some photos in the classic section next week when I get back. Cheers Simon
Excellent....I'll try and make it down. Is there a dress code or anything? I've got a party the night before, might not be looking my best Cheers Simon
wow, looks great! btw, napolis, i thought you weren't really in to concours or was i wrong? me personally, i think a concours should be something for luxury cars only. i always find it a bit strange to overrestore true race cars and never use them what they were meant for. offcourse, this is just my opinion. everyone is entitled to have a separate one, imo greets, stijn
I enjoy showing my cars but try to avoid over restoration at all costs. I also think the dents, dings, and repairs are all part of what makes a race car a piece of history. My MK-IV still has the dent in the tub caused by Bruce McLaren when he threw down his helmet after the tail blew off on the Mulsanne. Best
Hi Jim, thanks for the hint & link. Sorry, can`go for it - family weekend you know Good Luck and please post some pics of your receiving goblets Yours Wolfgang
I'm planning on coming too. Should be there with Andrea, Maranello71, if all goes to plan. I hade a look at the home page and the description for Saturday of "drive past public" seems to suggest that Sunday is not the only public open day. Is this right?
I am afraid that Saturday is access only by invitation. The public mentioned in the program are probably the invitees. We will be easily recognisable with our '***************.com' dress shirts and big cameras. EDIT: Wolfgang had no problem recognizing me last year!
Thanks, we'll look out for you. One last question..... Is there a parking area for the public and is it secure? Andrea is a bit apprehensive about leaving his 550 on the street.
Jim, are you still in NY? Have a pleasant flight and hope to meet you & your family in Sicily. Yours Wolfgang
I'll repeat Simon's question, since nobody picked up on it... is there any safe parking at Villa D'Este for a 550 Maranello? I know that car thieves tend to concentrate around these events, in the hope of finding nice unguarded exotics in the car parks.
You could contact the Villa d'Este resort about the parking facilities. I have not visited the event yet, so I can't help you out.
@napolis bit off topic perhaps, but can i ask you what you think about this new 2007 duesenberg..? http://www.*************/cars/2007@$Duesenberg@$Torpedo%20Coupex.html
