I don't know where to put this. So I figure that I'll put it here and let somebody else figure out where it should go. My daughter and her roommate are currently driving from New Hampshire to Texas. (Long story). She is currently in Georgetown and headed towards the Shenandoah Valley. Her plan is to head south to Pensacola Florida and then to Texas. Here is what I gave her for some ideas. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Your thoughts?
if they want to come to Savannah i would be glad to show them around the historic areas. the colony here was founded in 1733. i will, of course, be on my best behavior i can pm my cell if you or they want an emergency contact. no funny comments from the peanut gallery either ! Michael
Dave, have you ever seen the muscles on a rower? (Just kidding.) I'm not in control of this thing, but the drive from P-Cola to Houston gets awful boring if you don't take a break along the way.
Well, if she's going by Asheville anyway, a little detour to Deal's Gap is in order; I'll even buy her a BBQ platter!
We'll have to see. Because they are both 21, there is little I can do, but make suggestions. Imagine a Toyota Highlander running the Gap! Dale
Dr.Who, You are a brave man. When I look back, way back, on the idea of a road trip, well it wasn't a pretty sight!!! They won't be packing any ether will they?
ROADTRIP!!! A great man once said: "stay off the superslabs and roll with the punches!" that is my advice now. oh, and triple a....don't overlook mechanics with mohawks and more piercings then a florida ballot.
Boy, you guys are long on bravado, but short on suggestions, other than those involving illegal substances or acts. Actually, I'm not worried. My daughter is a lot smarter than I am. She doesn't feel the need to repeat the stupid acts of my misspent youth. Although, I am feeling this craving coming over me. I'm spending more and more time looking at maps and remembering old times. I must resist. Must be a solid citizen. Must vote Republican. Don't listen to those voices...
As was previously suggested, if they decide to come by Savannah let me know I am here for a majority of the year when I am not in New Orleans and would be happy to show people around town.
Richard & Michael, you both have a PM. It looks like my daughter and roomie will be in your area maybe later this week. Thx, Dale
