I am continuing my 84 308gts Sanden conversion. Compressor is mounted & new barrier hoses are in place.

I'm just starting the leak detection process, seems the low pressure switch leaks (maybe why the system was dead when I started).

Is this Low Pressure Switch (pictured at bottom of 4-way fitting) a Ferrari part, or just an a/c shop switch?

The owners site shows different parts....

S/b an A/C shop part, also NAPA and the larger auto parts houses (the ones shops buy from, not hobbiest places like AZ &PepBoyz) are usually pretty good at coming up with A/C parts.

If you search the archives, probably the old fchat ones, I think I remember a thread giving the pressure that's supposed to operate at. However, low cut-off pressure isn't too critical & is pretty similar for most auto A/C systems.

I received my pressure switch from GT CarParts, it is just like the 3 I already have (from mercedes, volvo & saab), 3/8 x 24 thread, the Ferrari 4 post crossfitting from my 1984 308 requires 10mm x 1.0 pressure switch.

The 3/8 x 24 switch is wooblie in the Ferrari fitting and gives you a total of .026" thread engagement, as opposed the .046" with the correct part. In my opinion, this is not acceptable, especially at 200-300psi. I won't use it.

GT CarParts was very nice on the phone, and retuning it was fine, they said they have had no problems using these on Ferrari's (maybe 308qv's are different?).

    I machined an adapted to go from 10 x 1.0 to 3/8 x 24.

(just a conclusion for the archives)
