I think the GTB looks better, but if I could have just one Ferrari I would probably get an open top, especially here in Texas.

Absolutely positively GTB. More paint 2 polish hence more bling. Safer in a (shudder) roll-over. Somewhat more private.

Purely on looks I think the GTB is better, but for driving I like the sunshine so would go with a GTS if it was my only F-car.

    Cheers

I picked up a S, as nice B's are relly hard to find. I think the weather proof attributes are not really important on a car that is only dirven on nice sunny Sundays. In those cases, the open roof is really nice!

Funny, none of you mention anything about the sound of your engine in an S. I owned a coupe and have ridden in a cab, but never in an S. There is a huge difference in sound between the cab and coupe and I wounder if the difference between coupe and S is worth the drawbacks of the S.

Having owned and driven both types for lots of miles, B all the way.

BTW, although guides have the B's for less, I have been watching the market for years and B's sell for the same as S's here.

Judging by all the B votes here, B's should be worth double at least!

I think the GTB is probably a better car all around. Stiffer body for track driving, cleaner lines for looking at. But no wind in your hair (or what's left of your hair). I figured since the car is a toy anyway, I might as well get the benefit of top-off driving on a sunny day.

Just like others, I prefer the appearance of the "B" but the versatility of the "S", and I'm glad I bought the latter.

But I eventually plan to follow the lead of Tillman and mcharness and get my roof painted red. I'm not sure I'll mess with the louvers, though.

    GTS!!!

The sound, the music...compares nothing to with just the windows down with the top on. Plus it looks bad ass!

Perfect compromise if you ask me--get to keep the looks/lines of a coupe while having open top capabilities.

Always Bs, i don't like the look of open top cars, they never look quite right to me. The SL/SLK/XLR..all those hardtop verts look great with their top on, although i'm sure its heavy.

I'll second the comments from the distinguished gentleman from California!

When the weathers nice nothing beats driving in the open air.

I would expect that GTB would be the choice of many Flatlanders. Those are the guys I see driving in Colorado hunched over with noses pressed to the windshield in order to try and see the mountains around them. If you live in a 3D world, there is more to experience with the top down than just sunshine.

I've had many years experience w/ a convertible & honestly hardly ever put the top down. But when I do, there’s nothing like it. Day or night, city or I-16, open top makes driving just so much more enjoyable. Now, if I could lower it w/ the touch of a button, I would go topless most every day in my Miata & 328GTS..

    308 - GTB
    328 - GTB
    348 - GTS
    355 - like both equally

As far as demand or desirability goes, I thought they were basically the same (value wise). While more people prefer the open top, the GTB is less common and some people prefer it. On the 308 and 328 at least.

The majority here seem to like the Berlinetta while in the market place it is very much the opposite. What is the difference?

I am a convertible guy and love driving roadsters, convertibles, targas, etc. So when I began to look for my first F-car, I had planned all along on a 308GTS, the only Ferrari I had much seat time in.

That was until I drove my first GTB. Almost immediately it felt different and less than 10 minutes into the drive that "felt different" quickly turned into "felt right".

I have not yet regretted my decision.

Pretty much the same thing to say here. I have come to like the cleaner lines of the GTB's but I'm not sure I could stand the roof over my head all the time. I take my top out any chance I get.
