    Does the engine need to come out to replace the starter?

    I'm intrigued, why did you ask? Hopefully you don't have a dishonest mechanic who told you that!

    no, my mechanic is a good, solid citizen who is out of town. I got asked the question by a non-internet savy friend and thought this was the quick way out.
