I am interested in purchasing a vehicle at Continental in Hinsdale and would like some positive or negative feedback on them. PM me if you don't want to say anything publicly. Thanks.

My experiences have been positive. I think they enjoy a fine reputation locally.

I agree totality, I have nothing but good things to say about those guys (and women). I bought two 360's from them last year and I could'nt be happier. Buy with confidence.

I have bought 7 cars from them over the last 16 years and can vouch for their integrity.

I just bought my 91 Testarossa from them last week. Easy transaction, sales was great. Was just delivered Wednesday, and I just drove it today for the first time, good thing I checked before I went road tripping, but the gas tank was on empty! I've dealt with them for over 2 years with my 308 QV getting serviced. Scott & Gary are real nice and knowledgeable. Totally recommend them.

Nice people. Honest service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Great service for some of the 80s models as they have techs who worked on them when new. Previous owner of my car spent a fortune at 2 F. dealers in CA and 1 in MI trying to fix a nagging F.I. problem. Continental repaired two years ago in 1 try - just labor - not a part needed & no problems since.

"not cheap but you get what you pay for..."

can you please elaborate? not cheap when it comes to sales or service? or both? since there are two factory authorized ferrari dealers in the chicagoland area (them and LFSC) are they pricier than lake forest? or expensive because they sell and service expensive cars?

looking to get into my first ferrari and live in rockford, illinois. so any additional information on autosports would be appreciated.

    thanks

I have nothing but praise for the Continental staff. My 83' 308GTS QV was Lonny Tsang's first sale at Continental back in 85'. Whether it's sales, parts, or service, these guys are pro's, and 1st class all the way.

I don't know if they are pricier than LFSC, but LFSC has a similar 91 TR to the one I bought, but it has several thousand more miles on it and is not in as good of shape as the one I bought from Continental, but they are asking around $7K more than Continental did. They may deal more though, I was only able to get a few hundred dollars knocked off the asking price on my car. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the responses. I was interested in a 911 they have, but for some reason they will not allow the vehicle off-site for a PPI to be performed. This seems unusual given than FV, LFSC and LM allow off-site PPI's.

What a euphemism. We used to call them worse things back in Switzerland. "Flattened bug" (as in VW Beetle) was one of the nicer expressions.

What model 911? I traded my black 996 Tiptronic Cab. in for my TR, but I thought they just wholesaled it right off...

I have been letting Continental service my 328 now for a couple years, they did my Major service and service on my A/C. Yes, they are a little more higher priced than taking them to a foregn car service place, but they stand by thier service. They are very friendly and they actually remember customers. Gary and Scott are great in the service department, in fact Scott is currently working on getting me some tour passes for the Ferrari factory in Italy.

When i had my 328 in for the A/C repair, it needed a new York commpressor, they took the time to locate a York dealer and get the compressor that route rather than just selling me one for 5 times the cost that was packaged in a Ferrari box. Most dealers won't go to those extents...

They did my major last year too. Car runs great.

I also needed a new master cylinder a couple of years ago. Apparently the part is only available with the booster attached (which I didn't need). They arranged to split up a set with some other service place so I could just get the part I needed and saved some $$$.

I drove in there last Nite while I was out for a Cruise. There was a Dark Blue 911 parked outside. I did not see any Cabs.though.
