maybe its a test mule for the enzo replacement? or the 400th edition?
NO, he is NOT a factory employer/testdriver of Ferrari, Maranello S.p.a.!!! He works for a company called "Pxxxxxxx", (firm name "x" to protect his privacy) a subcontractor that carries out durability tests for Ferrari and Maserati, thats it! But for sure he could know, have seen the ENZO GT on track at Fiorano!
I have ended with P........ last year and from december 2004 i'm a employer/testdriver of Ferrari. The new Enzo called "super Enzo" will have approximately 800 hp, I cannot say other............ http://img185.echo.cx/img185/706/f131sp8nf.jpg http://img185.echo.cx/img185/5243/20055ci.jpg
As an employee you should not be saying ANYTHING! Knowing your employer's sensitivity to employees talking,I'd be cautious if I were you! As you cannot say more: 800 bhp - 950 kg dry - 20 examples - 1.5M
I can tell you that this guy has been talking about F-Cars and Maseratis on several internet forums for years, and one thing is for sure: he is NOT cautious with his statements. He'll have to learn to be careful if he wants to brag about his "insider" experience on this forum... there may be people listening who may take exception to certain "revelations" being made public. Besides, from what I heard the Super-Enzo is a one-off for an enthusiastic client who wants to race it. But where will he race it? For the FIA-GT you don't need 800BHP - the intake air restrictor will limit you to about 650BHP anyway. And to make a car competitive in the FIA-GT you need a lot more than a one-off development program, you need several cars and a long-term investment (look at how much money was privately invested with Prodrive to make the 550 Maranello competitive - and it did take 3 years before it became a winner!!). My guess is this car will just become another "special" Ferrari to satisfy the desires of its - very lucky! - owner, with enormous performance but nowhere to really race it.
I have not never said some information about new cars, this is Autocar http://speed.*************/pitlane/pics/854872b.jpg http://speed.*************/pitlane/pics/854872c.jpg
sorry to bump this up, but i have found better, clearer pics here http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102367
I know 2 people who have been contacted by the factory with a view to buying one - that is where I got the info from.... I've known these guys for years (both Enzo - amongst others - owners) so have no reason to disbelieve them. They also tell the same story independently of each other....
Hi Peter, story is true. 20 "selected" customers have been at the factory for a "preview". I know one of them and he confirmed this.
Is this going to be a roadcar or a special track car like a Challenge car or that Zonda designed for track use only?
I am told that Michelotto is in charge of this project and that this particulary Enzo won't be registered for road use. However, this dosen't mean that the others will be. By the way, I am also told Michelotto is in charge of the development of the F430 CS as well.
Hi guys, So the car in question is not merely a one-off tuned up Enzo, but a pre-production prototype instead? Michelotto have modified one Enzo so far, and Ferrari are approaching potential customers with a view of producing 20 examples? Will the production models also be modified in the same way as this initial pre-production prototype? And will this prototype count as 1 of the 20 cars?! Just want to clarify some details! Also, some of you mention that you have contacts who have been approached - please post every detail you know, no matter how small!!! Is it possible that Ferrari have approached Enzo owners who are interested in modifying their current cars, or are we talking about a production run of new chassis by ATR? Are ATR at all involved in the development of this car? Picture: Standard Enzo chassis by ATR Thanks, Paddy
Hi Paddy, welcome on Fchat. Is it possible to fill in your profile? Most people on Fchat like to know whommthey are talking too! Thanks, Roel
Car will NOT be road legal. Track toy for the SUPER rich! The 1.5 M eur price is without VAT.......... 20 examples (all sold?) 800 bhp /950 kgs
Is a little lunatic to think that this Enzo a vehicle laboratory can be where is putting on to point the new motor V12 of the F60? Let us remember that they lack single two years for the 60 anniversary of the company and one has not still seen for Maranello anything resemblance to a super Ferrari of these characteristics. Is able to that this Enzo is the platform of development of the new motor and later it is already proven in its definitive chassis?
