I just got home from the annual Poker Run, yet another great trip. Thanks Dave for all of your hard work. Sorry about your 6:30am stop! Thanks also to Will, Don and Carolyn, and John and Carol.

    My most memorable moments:

    1. The picture of the mattress truck-it made me hit my brakes, I thought those guys were really standing in the back.
    2. The black Corvette going up I-35, wanting to show us what he was made of. Nick had to comply.
    3. Watching in my rear view mirror as Don got pushed across the double yellow line by a semi while he was passing it.
    4. Sunil saying he wanted to drive something comfortable because he and his son had been driving hard the last few days. He brought the 612.
    5. Chasing Rob, Yoshi and the guy in the 360 Spider down that last curvy road before lunch. Those cars sounded awesome.
    6. I rolled 50k miles! I tried to do it in style, picture attached. It's a photoshop of course.

All in all another great day, I can't wait for next year!

    Dave,
This was by far the best Ferrari event I have been to since joining the FCA. What a great route you and your kind helpers mapped out for us. Simple, easy to read maps, great high vistas, and some nice quick cruising behind my leader, Nick. The bike shop was a fun stop, and the restaurant handled the large group well. These are my early pics to get started, but I can't wait to see some of Will's looking back at the big line of Ferrari's. Was very impressed with how fast that Turbo Porsche could go from 1/4 mile back to on my butt. Dale loved her first Ferrari cruising event, and will be back. Now to the recliner and napping to golf.

When I started my thread I just thought all my pics would fit. During the reducing process you got yours in first. Can a moderator combine them? Sorry.

Merged and cleaned up a bit. Thanks for the pics guys!

Actually, I was in the lead on Church Road (me, Yoshi, 360 Spider and you), and absolutely convinced that I just led a caravan of exotics down the wrong road! Good thing that Tam was correct in her navigation, I would have hated to end up in someone's farmyard...

    My favorite moments:

    1) Hypothetically clearing triple digits while passing multiple pickups on a two-lane FM highway. Hypothetically.

    2) Hypothetically clearing triple digits while trying to keep up with a 328 and Testarossa. Hypothetically.

    3) Hearing that the Springtown cop managed to sink herself in a ditch while pulling a 180.

    4) Listening to Jano's Tubi-equipped 348. Awesome.

    5) Church Road

    6) As usual, a great crew to hang with

    7) Being told by the cop that the rock bridge across the river by the restaurant was "closed", and that we would be arrested if we stepped out on them. Seriously.

    Jim,

Thanks for the pics. Looks like you guys had lots of fun. Congrats on the 50k. Looking at the miles you and TIllman have on the cars, who says Ferraris aren't driven?

What kind of wheels are those on the second pic on the 360 spider? Any close ups or side view?

Also no close up or any pics of Jennie? You dissapointing me today man!

I'd like to thank the Academy for the award...oh wait, wrong speech.

I'd like to thank Dave for organizing this awesome event! Thanks to everyone for the "Oh Drat" plaque - not quite the words I will probably be expressing once I find out why the Modena threw a tantrum. I will proudly display it by my "Worst Hand" trophy and the Daytona model.

Thanks Frances! :) Just make sure you hang onto the trophy that was very nearly called the "Jim E. Trophy for the Mechanically Unfortunate."

It's a floating trophy and we'll award it (or hopefully not) to another participant next year. :)

You should have seen her face after she recovered, but STILL couldn't make the 180 turn due to heavy oncoming traffic.

I followed behind Tillman and Yoshi in my 360 Spider. I am Duane alias "Free" here.

That run down the curvy roads and then opening her up a bit on the highway chasing the bandits was really fun. Surprised we didn't get pulled over! :)

Besides winning the Poker Run with 4 Queens, I really enjoyed meeting the folks and being surrounded by so many Italian Steeds. I really look forward to the next event!

I also had a blast talking to the Aircraft Guys attending the Convention at the Gaylord. One of them asked me what I did for a living and I told him I was an Aircraft Engineer (which is what they were). LOL His jaw dropped open and the 5 or so guys standing around went silent for about 15 seconds. I then told them I was in the Commercial Construction Business, and everyone got a good laugh! hehe

The wheels on my 360 are Challenge Wheels from P-Factor, powdercoated silver finish with polished aluminum lip and titanium hardware.

    Here's a closeup:

Any place that has an "armadillo mall" can't be half-bad; do they cook 'em there, or do you have to do it when you get home? BTW, nice parking lot...

I particularly enjoyed following Jano... I could always tell when he was about to sprint his way around traffic... he'd downshift, and that glorious Tubi-enhanced 348 whine would announce his intentions... allowing me to match his moves easily. The sound of my Stradale harmonizing with his 348 made the day, for me!

I wonder what it sounded like to those we were passing.
