oh I must have forgot to tell you - thats my job Here is a pic of it in its current state with an E46 M3 sitting in front of it - the only pic I could find http://img194.echo.cx/img194/5991/r00103736ul.jpg haha....those 2 ladies on the right look like they are posing for me
Oh, if it's just a bit of b1itching and slack glove slapping... I'm all up for that.... Back to the car for a moment... I see also that you've lost your green coil lead sleeving and a condensor from the 1-4 bank must be underneath now...... Gees, how anal can a concour judge be.....
hold it ! You've checked this car out how many times !!?? He's got best car a thousand times WITHOUT the assy number embossed on a letter from the Commendatore !!?? Shame on you cheats
How come 308/GT4 always have arounf 5xxxx/6xxxx kms on the odo? Every car I have seen has had that. Is it some magical figure, that anything above it renders the car worthless?
mine had 45xxx on the clock when it fell over....I got it at 73xxx so who knows how many times around the clock it's been, the more the better I say, and the motor is still strong as ever!
you know my thoughts on F car odo readings - they're all bull ****. Unless it's a one owner car and you're the guy that bought it new I wouldn't trust anything someone told me. Although, I'm not anal about odo readings and will take a genuine 50k car over a bullsh1t 12k car anytime
A 308 in THAT condition I would definitely consider putting on my future shopping list. That is a wonderful car, in a relatively unique colour and with a lovely story attached to it. Thanks for posting those pics. I can see why you are so proud of that vehicle.
Anything from a 355 onwards has the mileage imbedded in the ECU's. Get the dealer to connect the old SD2 and you will find out the truth.
Thanks for the comments. I can't say that I have seen too many early 308's like # 21027, probably because nobody else would contemplate such a restoration I suppose she rates fairly low in comparison to the other Ferraris that I own or have owned; but this is the one that will NEVER be sold.
ECU mileages cannot be trusted. The SD2 can lie, or be told to lie, not only by the dealers, but black market too. And ECU's get swapped/replaced quite easily. Condition and History is all that's important.
Not really correct at all. The SD2 can only be used to adjust mileage by 500km, three times only. Then the ECU locks. As for replacing ECU's, sure; but the cost is substantial to say the least. You also need to quote the cars chassis number and they are only available through a dealer. It costs about $5k for each 360 ECU for example. God knows what they cost on an F50/ENZO etc. I have heard there is a gadget in Europe that can alter the ECU readouts; but I have yet to see proof of such a thing.
Scott, the SD2 just works through the worldwide OBD II connector. trust me, there are now methods available to tamper with all sorts of stuff. Also, Who said anything about buying ECU's. I said swap. There are LOTS of crashed cars out there now, and these things are zipping around the world in all directions......
Dunno that there are too many crashed F50/ENZO cars out there to donate their ECU's. I'll take your word for the SD2 tweaker units that may be out there now. If man can design something, man can find a way to get around it given enough motivation......
i heard they're just adapted from Camira's. hacking stuff is just a matter of patience and determination, and there's a lot of bored geeks out there...
I know, I just employed two to see if they could break into my new baby. Best way to secure your product is to get the best regularly bored (and not yet caught) geeks to break in and then add new locks to the door when they leave
My 308GTS # 25445 1979 is a one owner (me) and has done 83000k. Mainly because I used to use it a lot and it was the only ferrari I had that was running.
Is it in original condition or have you restored it? I'm guessing there aren't too many one owner 308s out there at this time.
