Sweet! I'll definitely keep my eye out! I hope Ferrari owners wouldn't mind an old Bimmer hanging around in their crowd, haha

    Hello everyone.

G.L. here living in Burlington Vermont. Used to be from Montreal but I could not afford free healthcare anymore so I moved 90 miles south.

Never owned a Ferrari but it is lining up to be the next toy. My main hobby is boating and I got the boat I always wanted a year ago. Things are settling down and I plan on getting a 512BBi in the next few years. Owned a few Porsches and Vette's but no prancing horse.

The 512BBi is due to me craving the one the owner of an adjacent business had in the early 80's when I worked at a lumberyard and was still in school.

Pics of our boat and the kind of ride I would like to get!

Again nice to meet you all and thank you for my upcoming education.

Great forum! I've lurked here for a day or two. Just don't tell my wife! She already thinks I'm obsessed with automobiles. Reading other peoples posts in this thread really brought back some childhood memories. Every one mentioning their love of Ferraris made me remember the posters on my wall and the cut outs from magazines. I'm even attempting to pass these memories on........ got a great pic of my 14 month old soon with his new Ferrari hat. He loves that thing! Hopefully he will be willing to pass the hat down to my next little one due in November.

Right now, the only thing red in my garage is the lawn mower [smile]. Other than that, a couple of Subarus. My income would not support the Ferrari habit. Maybe some day. Right now, I'm just enjoying reading up on your wonderful cars. The pictures are great too! Chattanooga, TN does not seem to have a population of Ferraris to drool over. My best sighting were a 550 & 360 in Sydney and an F40 in Taipei. Damn me for not carrying a camera all the time.

Anyway, I hope to enjoy Ferrari Chat a bit more. I might even try to find some car shows near by. This weekend will be the auto show in Atlanta. I'm dying to see the F430 in person (even if it is indoors with the engine off...... beggars can't be choosers).

    Greetings, FChat folks...

Been lurking here for a couple months or so - found the place whilst on a search for the PPG Paint code for Giallo Modena. Was also pleased to discover that a friend of mine, DrStranglove (and his red 348 spider) are members here.

I currently don't have a Ferrari, but I've loved them for as long as I can remember - my first automotive love was the TR - had 6'-long posters and framed pics all over my room of TRs in every available color, and then my heart was stolen by the first TR convertible I saw. Truly love at first sight.

Since then, while I love most things Ferrari, I lust after the convertibles. Just can't help it. ::grin::

My dream stable would hold a yellow/black 355 conv., a red/tan 348 conv., and a black/tan TR conv. (all for getting me around), and the movie/TV prop collector in me would like to add (of course) a red 308GTS and a black Daytona Spyder.

My financial state has not yet allowed me to purchase one of the Ferraris of my dreams, however, in 1990 I fell in love with a different type of 'redhead' - the Pontiac Fiero.

I have to admit that it is for this reason that I have been reluctant to come out of lurkdom - I realize that there are quite a few different Ferrari replicas of varying degrees of quality that are made from the Fiero platform, and I'm not sure how many of you actual owners feel about those of us who drive and love our 'Poor Man's Ferraris'. Mine isn't a replica conversion, nor will it ever be - I'm making it into what I feel is the ultimate edition of what it actually is, not making into something it isn't. I hope there's no animosity - while I can appreciate the skill and art it takes to create a believable replica, with some of the money I've seen pumped into replica projects, I have to wonder why (other than being able to avoid multi-thousand dollar preventive maintenance bills and mechanical parts) they don't just funnel the money into acquiring the Real Thing. But, that might just be me. ::smile::

Been driving/maintaining/loving Fieros for 15 years now - bought my first 1988 red 4-cyl Coupe in 1990, having since refurbished it (with currently 248,000 original miles on it) with my Dad, who now owns and drives it daily. And I currently have the Fiero of (my) choice, a 1988 (currently red) V6 Formula, which I've had the incredible good fortune to be able to add a convertible kit that I originally missed out on acquiring back in 1992 when it was originally planned to be added to the car.

(Pics can be seen at http://members.aol.com/automodaformula .)

Which brings me to the present, and how I found this place and the apparently generous, good-natured people here - my remaining plan for the Formula is to have it professionally painted in what I feel is the ultimate 'statement' of paint color, original Ferrari 'Giallo Modena' Yellow. I've always thought that yellow cars needed some black to provide contrast, and I feel that with the black wheels, beltline trim and convertible top, the color would be perfect for my car.

(Speaking of which, what I've found is that I'd need to order PPG #4305, yes? Please correct me if my findings have been in error.)

Looking forward to talking about these wonderful Italian cars and getting to know the people who own, enjoy and/or are enthused by them.

    Thanks for reading,
Patrick W. Heinske -- [email protected]

I have been reading the topics on this forum for some time and i finally decided to start posting.

It is kind of funny and sad how the members slam on each other and are so jumpy. (Not trying to start anything)

There are a lot of rich people who live in my town and i have been wanting a ferarri for quite some time but, it to this day has eluded my grasp. (Cough, $$$$)

By the way, thanks for making this thread I think it will help a lot of people start out their posting.

well, i just registered last week....but i've visited the site a few times at the request of my long-time bf who is pulling me into the ferrari world just as he did in the vw world. if it weren't for him...i wouldn't even enjoy driving because i used to have a ford focus...base model crap that it was. anyway, i have two dubs, and although i haven't been able to drive either one of them in over four months...i love them to death! but it's time to move on and up (though not necessarily away) to bigger and better things . a ferrari is not much more attainable than the two of had ever imagined before...and sooner than we had thought too. so we've got some learning to do first! :p

Most of my friends know me as a Bimmerphile but I would like to expand my horizons a bit here...

I look forward to learning and contributing what I can to the community! :)

My name is Chris and I live in Los Gatos, California. I am constantly lurking and enjoying much of the new information made available by contributions of this site. I appreciate all the great historical and technical information made available through this site as well. I recently sold my 355 GTS and have been recently searching for a well-sorted '02/'03 360 Modena. I plan to continue "lurking" as often as I can.......

I've been lurking a while, posting a bit..

    But here's the intro-

My name is Todd Milliken, and I currently reside the in the exotic car pathway known as Benbrook, TX. My love for Ferrari began in the late 70's early 80's while growing up in Norman, OK, leading to many nights with my face pressed against the windows of what was then Big Red Ferrari.. Actually saw 3 new F40's at once in the garage there being prepped.. And at that time, it was cool, but I had no idea.. I was friends with one of the lead mechanics there, whose name fails me, but he owned the cleanest Frog-eye Sprite I had ever seen..

I'm a huge champcar fan, I get up at ungodly hours to watch F1 with my 6 year old daughter..

I'll gladly accept any ride-along at MSR that is offered.. I need to arrange one for my wife, to help expedite my "F-car by 50" plan into maybe a "F-car by 45" plan..

Currently drive a Mustang or a handy Protege 5.. Projects include a 65 Sprite, 87 Buick Grand National, and my mini-Ferrari, a 63 Volvo P1800..

I look forward to contributing what I can as a non-owner (until my wife buys me the F-car..)

    Todd

Hi, I linked to here from a BMW forum and have lurked for a month. I'm just obsessed with cars and racing. I own a small environmental consulting firm and drive a BMW 330 coupe, a K100RS cycle and have a Mini Coop for sale.
I live 40 mi. from Mid-Ohio and have had season pass for years. Done track days with the cycle At Road America and Mid-Ohio. Shifter karts at Mid-Ohio.
Have been to every USGP and will be there this year. If I'm within 25 miles of an exotic car dealership anywhere I am, I go. I'm so nuts about racing I even bought 400 shares of Cart stock the first month it went public. That looked good for a while. Anyway we won't have to get up early to watch F1 in the AM in what is starting off to be an interesting season. Great site here with some real knowledge and nuts.

    Hi,

Long time Ferrari guy, but never an owner. I've been fortunate enough to drive just about every road car produced from 246 Dino through current production. I visit this site about 2-3 times per week and find it full of useful information and very entertaining. That cat with the lime helmet gets me every time! I'll continue to quietly lurk and perhaps post when I need USGP tickets, though I don't plan on going this year.

    Till next time,
    Brian

Hi. Long long time Ferrari lover. Hope to be able to be lucky enough to own an F430 perhaps the next model some day.

Until then, I drive this (mildly modified 2005 Noble M400):

Hi there, been a lurker for awhile now... I love all types of cars, but the 360 tops my list right now... I just love that car. One thing i'm suprised about in this board is the willingness of its members to help each other out. I had no more than 2 posts but was helped via PM or Email by 3 members on this site(lafun2, jsl, and asg 86tr... Thanks a lot guys!) This is truly a special forum that i'm happy to have found.

I have been reading f-chat for about eight months and this site provided the most help in deciding which model was best for me. I purchased an 02 575M three months ago and have put 6k miles on the clock. She was a low millage garage queen and now she is much happier as a dirty daily driver.
I had eye surgery today so my typing may be marginal but I had to get home andback on-line to read the extended warranty thread!!

Thanks to forum members for the help in my getting the right f-car for me.
