Here's my Mondial-8 with the new tires and wheels on. The wheels are Katana VR-6's, but I machined a center hub to hold the Ferrari medallion to replace the ugly hub the wheels came with. I think the simpler straight-lines of the spokes complement the car's body lines better than a round spoke. Just my opinion.

The real trick was getting a wheel with a close offset to the 55 mm original offset, compensating for the difference with a narrower tire width on the front where the fenders are closer to the tire's outer surface, and getting the outer tire diameter the same as the old ones so it didn't screw up the speedometer.

New Wheels: 17"x7.5", 5x108 bolt pattern, 40mm offset
    Front Tires: 215/50/17 ZR
    Back Tires: 245/45/17 ZR

The narrower front tires corrected the sluggish, thick feeling to the steering of the larger original TRX tires, and the newer tread compound increased traction considerably. I haven't pushed it far enough to see whether the handling is still as neutral as it was, but for comparison a 360 Modena has 205's on the front and 265?'s on the rear.

Fairly sure I would never change but if I did, these would be a consideration. They look newer without looking too new for the car. (I get BBS is kinda retro in the day and age of spinners...)

Wow Sam, that car is gorgeous. Obviously someone with a great sense of style and taste... (and modest too)

fatbillybob - Did you find the trick wheels you were looking for your Mondail? I recently purchased a Mondial and am now looking to upgrade the wheels. Please let me know if you found a good outlet for some "classy" wheels. Thanks !

And mine's in my public profile...

Original 390mm metric wheels were replaced with 7" * 17” ACE Alloy wheels all round, and Yokohama 215/45 (F) and 235/45 (R) tyres. The centre hub diameter of the wheels was bored out from 65mm diameter to Ferrari's 67mm, by Thousand Dunes Garage in Dubai. ACE center caps were then resurfaced with Ferrari logos, scanned and created at a local design agency.

Cost - wheels (new) US$380 ( all four); tyres (Yokohama V102) US$ 574; drilling centre hub diameter $220; total US$1,174

Hope this helps - they're not as attractive as 348/355 wheels, but worked out a bit cheaper!

I've seen a multitude of wheel applications on Mondials, but not any with 456 or 550 wheels. Do any of you know if these will fit "properly" on a 3.2 Cab? I like the way these look, but there's no sense in looking for a set if they won't work on my car.

    Thanks.
