Guys - I need your help to locate the above car which I have 'sold' through a dealer who, 4 weeks later, has yet to pay me for it. The dealer is London-based so I assume the car must be in the south-east of the UK somewhere. Any info on the whereabouts of my car will be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    James355

Thanks for replying guys. My solicitor has begun legal proceedings so I'd rather not say who the dealer is just yet. The is a 1995 355 GTS, rosso nero with a colour-coded roof.

This is my first (and v unfortunate) post, am I allowed to post phone no, email etc? If so I'm more than happy to discuss my experience...

Yeah a BIG nightmare... And how did you guess..... ;)

Craig - if you could post for me on pistonheads I'd really appreciate it. I didn't want to sell my baby in the first place (house upgrade - grrr..) and now this has compounded my misery!

my heart goes out to you bud. The dealer really needs naming AFTER you have been paid/ got your car back so we can all avoid. Got a fair idea who it is tho'. Was the car with them on a sale or return basis???

    Thanks Craig - much appreciated.

Bit of a nightmare with the police also. Because its not officially stolen (?!) its a civil fraud issue rather than criminal, so I have to pursue through legal channels.. Tracker basically told me the same thing so I'm hoping these forums might yield some info!!

I can't understand why a so called "specialist" would act so foolishly, word spreads like wildfire across the web. Mad world.

Totally agree. Certainly seemed like a good outfit initially but now... For the sake of one sale (albeit an expensive one) why would you sacrifice your reputation? Beats me. I might not be the only one though, I wonder if there any others out there with a similar story?

Are they refusing to pay up, even though they've given you a sale invoice?

My impression of them was they didnt know there bum from their elbow - their offices were in totall disarray and no one seemed to know what was going on! Is it just a long delay in payment or are they refusing to cough up?

Does the car have a tracker? Maybe you could do something on those lines.

We confronted the guy in question 2 weeks ago (after his payment failed to materialise) and he assured me the cash would be in my account by Monday 9th May at the latest. 1 week later and no money and he's not taking any of my calls.... I think another visit might be needed!

And no-go with Tracker. They need a crime-ref to activate and the police won't give me a crime-ref because its a civil issue...

One thing James, the proprietor of said dealership does reside here from time to time so it might be worth making him aware you are posting & have not named & shamed but to give him another opportunity to resolve your issues.

    just a thought.

Blimey, this does seem very very strange behaviour, just one transaction and trashing his reputation for it.

Perhaps (and I really hope for your sake this is NOT the case) he is having some financial difficulties?

If you can try all possible of avenues of communication BEFORE naming names, it will make the process of moderation a lot easier. :D
