Does anybody know about the history of this Enzo on Ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4548011306&rd=1 Thanks for the info!
The VIN he gives in this auction isn't a valid VIN... The first Enzo was serial number 128014... He's got everything right except the check digit and the serial number... i emailed the seller, Jim Lyons, back in February and he said he won't make public the VIN of a car of "this caliber"... Which is fine, i guess, but there are some publications that publish the VIN or serial number of EVERY car they list - like the Ferrari Market Letter... When purchasing a Ferrari through such a publication, you can rest asured that you're not walking into a trap... Now i'm not saying that Sports Car Company is a fraud or that no one should purchase from them, but when Ferraris like 0901 GT are published for sale, with the serial number, at an asking price of $1,750,000.00, the "caliber" of an unknown Enzo on eBay doesn't seem so high, does it...?
hey Ben, sports car company is somewhere over in the miramar area isnt it? ill get directions and stop by some day and look at it. also, theres that little shack of a place right across the street from Symbolic where theres room for 3 cars and nobodys ever in there, at least of the 10-12 times ive been down there, that has the sports car company logo on there- do they post a sheet of inventory on the window like symbolic does? next time im down there (which will be at least a week) ill check it out
i was just looking for it on the map, and its like 5 minutes off the freeway i take to get home every day. hell ill see if i can stop by tomorrow and take a look
last photo on auction site is closeup of wheel... it has some curb rash @ the 7 o'clock position I think :-(
yeah, while no one is ever there, they just opened it across the street from symbolic to mooch off symbolic's biz. symbolic has spent a lot of money and time to generate the traffic they get to the LJ location and lyons just popped up across the street as a secondary locale that is never manned. most of their "business" is at the other hole in the wall on miramar.
ya i noticed that and got the same vibe, the way there is no room to enter the store if theres 3 cars in there. my dads been to the one on miramar and knowing how he usually lets me know if somethings bad, he didnt mention anything. he said it was very traffick-ey in and out of the dealer, which made it sound like a big place. whatever, ill stop there tomorrow if none of my friends need a ride home.
haha ok. i wanna see the Enzo they claim to have though. does the setting of any of those pics on ebay look anything like the place?
the enzo pictures are for sure not from either place. these pics (at least the ones outside) are from the miramar place: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4545779692
BTW, one of the reasons I was asking for the VIN is because I could see from the window outside the always closed showroom he went to lengths to COVER up the last 6 numbers: http://www.986host.com/gallery/benkea/IMG_1811?full=1 In light of the paintwork episode and "already sold" scam, my trust level isn't high.
i shere after school today and surprise, no Enzo or F430. quite a few silver 360s tho, but they dont have anywhere near as large of an inventory as their website says (at least not at that location)
It is relisted. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4549600352&category=6212
